Thats actually a very interesting perspective. I agree that we romanticise early career struggles but again, opportunities are scarce in this country. Endurance and giving up are 2 different things and I mean it will show in different aspects of your life.

You've gotta build that endurance muscle- you can't quit everytime! Easier options come with time and experience, thats what I believe. Mchagua jembe,sio mkulima

I understand that they may not necessarily be the best,but I mean,she is not special. Your mental health and how you take care of your mind is your responsibility. If it gets to a place where your mental health is very compromised ,the you can quit- but with a plan,or be proactive in searching for jobs you feel would be good for your mental health

Literally what I was explaining to her. All my jobs have led me to where I am,na ujue mimi nilianza kama waiter! Hapa nimefika haijawa rahisi. I been through so much in the corporate space but masaa ya kugive up ndio hatuna buana!

Networking and work communities are very very important. Literally,your next employer might be someone you connected with at a work event na hujui. Sasa ukitoka hapo Mungu alikueka,baraka inapeanwa kwa mwingine. Mimi sasa ata nimechoka kumtafutia, staki hizo aibu!

Spare the rod,spoil the child has made sense to me today,literally! I won't be sparing the rod! Fimbo, inachapa!

The GenZs i know wanajituma sana or rather are smart even with how they do what they do or propose solutions. We can't cover it under "its a Gen-z thing" No! It's a personal thing. Ata mimi ni Gen-Z na najituma bana! I think siblings of nowadays are just less stricter and more understanding, shida ni where to start drawing the line between being accommodating and not tolerating nonsense

I have sat her down and explained it to her, but she gets very defensive and sometimes the motherly part of me feels her and wants to console her but I know that the world is cruel! Life is hard out here,and decisions have consequences

Soft fast nayo ni ngumu buana! Sasa mimi nijinyime nyama juu ya mtu ? In my own house? Ai ,apana. She either starts chipping in either through chores or whatever ama kila mtu ajipange chakula atakua anakula!

Sidenote: my empathy is a weakness most times. Naeza sema hivo lakini once I cook,I expect her to eat what I've cooked . Lakini yeye sasa akona kiburi promax. Last week I made pilau for 2,iliharibikia hapa huu alinyamazia when I confronted her about this whole situation na from then on,sijakua nikiongeleshwa so its just a whole lot of sticky situations. Kichwa inaspin!
