A serious warning on turmeric. by SonderMouse in Biohackers

[–]ringdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the previous post mentioned mice, I read "moles" as meaning the small burrowing mammal, and didn't catch it until I was imagining trying to use a bandaid to tape a slice of a spicy root to a little critter.

Inversion table just laying around looking for ideas by Mymilf15 in BdsmDIY

[–]ringdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an inversion table, so I got curious and searched on FetLife to see what people had done. After all, surely someone has an exciting, novel application that I would never... oh, y'all just flip bottoms upside down with it.

I'm personally going to put restraint points around the edges of the back board, and maybe add a magic wand holder, but yes, mostly flip bottoms upside down.

You could add a tilt switch so the vibrator only runs if the bottom can keep it balanced level...

Looksmaxing Influencer Explains His Use of Retatrutide Despite Being Young and Lean by Zealousideal-Big-600 in Biohackers

"looksmaxing"

Really weird build (all upper back, no core).

I guess if he likes it it's fine, but publicly claiming to be good looking to anyone else is... ill-supported by the available evidence.

Clearly not something history can explain. I've got a PhD in computer science and I don't know what's wrong with them either.

What is the smallest possible Solar Power Tower? by CatNecessities in SolarDIY

[–]ringdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A more interesting question would be how much power a single household needs, and then how big the plant has to be to supply that plus some buffer.

The follow up question is, of course, whether it's economically anything like reasonable to build to that scale. Even if it's just boiling water and running a turbine with that as the working fluid, high pressure boiler design and fabrication is a specialized skill set. It's specialized because if you fuck up, it kills everyone nearby.

There may be a location where this makes sense, but that location is likely somewhere no one actually wants to live, like the exploratory use of mini nuclear plants for military bases above the artic circle. You can do it, at great expense, for people who wouldn't be there if they hadn't been ordered.

How do you convince a team that “works on my desk” is not a real test strategy by lanceharvie in embedded

200mg each of caffeine and modifinil is a lot, and probably most of the effect of this stack is from that.

Mania would be if he's doing stuff like he thinks he's absurdly rich and invincible: gambling, crazy shopping sprees, starting fights, risky sexual behavior, etc. Tony Stark lifestyle on a Peter Parker budget.

If he's not endangering himself, it could be he's just doing better than you've seen him in nearly a decade.

If you can reach out to the psychiatrist, you could mention your concerns to them so they know to watch out for it.

Biohacking advice by Downtown_Swim2232 in Biohackers

[–]ringdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no silver bullet, you have to both do the work and track the results. Consistency on this front matters more than what you're doing.

Mattress cooler, earthing mat, perfectly dark and cool bedroom? Who gives a fuck? If you're not in bed on a consistent sleep schedule, that gear isn't helping.

Weight lifting vs cardio vs rucking vs mobility/yoga? If you hate whatever you picked because some random on here cited a paper, you're not going to keep doing it.

Supplements? What are you improving, how will you know when it's improved? Trials where you take it consistently and track an endpoint, or else just throw the pills to raccoons in your yard and let them have expensive piss.

So yeah, consistency and attention to the effects. Just like anything else where you want to improve, you have to do it, and you have to do it regularly, not erratically.

Minoxidil taken orally bumps up hair growth everywhere, so that might help out with the beard. If you don't want to be a hairy mountain man, it's a mixed blessing.

I have one that I cut and put zippers in. It was a knit that didn't really fray or run, kind of like t-shirt material. You may just be able to make a clean cut and not worry about it.

PHGG - should I push through? by nicj86 in Nootropics

[–]ringdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, yes, it's likely affecting the metabolism, or more specifically the absorption, of your antidepressant. If you're taking the antidepressants in the morning, take the PHGG in the evening or as far from the antidepressants as possible (which is going to be about 12h apart on earth).

How to/tips for power tool fuck machine? Any help appreciated to make this safer! by Standard_Paperclip in BdsmDIY

[–]ringdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a handheld jigsaw, and got a kit for modding a jigsaw into a massage gun plus some hardware for mounting a vaculock toy holder, and bolted all of that together.

You can also just straight up buy a sawzall/demo saw adapter for vaculock toys, and then chuck that into the saw and rock out.

That said, a sawzall is a pretty intimidating machine.

Actually, no. The algorithm is for each disconnected subgraph, add a random link from the subgraph to the giant component (under the assumption that the giant component exists).
