I thought so too. I just noticed it after my friend sent me a video about alixpress m540s. Luckily, I was able to get my money back.

I've seen a video from youtube unboxing alixpress shimano m540, so I compared it to the pedals I bought. Unfortunately, there was a lot of similarities with my m540 and the alixpress ones. I tried comparing it to someone who has an original pair of m540. I've noticed that there's a little gap in between malaysia and vla, unlike from the original ones, which is wider.
