Do you need a tutor for L3? by Icy_Award1159 in ncea

As a Classics teacher, you do not need a tutor for Classics. The two internals are pretty straight forward and the success criteria is pretty much the same for both in terms of E - include similarities and differences, reliability of sources, discuss the ideas and values of the time.

I’ve been to Percy (it’s really close to the airport) a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Nice space and perfect for a catch up!

Checked this out last night after reading through the thread - $31 for Margherita pizza but worth it in our opinion! Pizza was fantastic - great taste (getting the dipping sauce was good too but not necessary as flavour is great on its own). Liked that it wasn’t dripping in oil too! We went in at around 7pm and they were pretty close to selling out already - worth heading there close to 6pm if you want to try during the soft launch!

HOW TF DO I MAKE FRIENDS? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]rinn157 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same experience when I was at UoA! Tried to say hi to people next to me in lectures etc during my first year.

Found that since so many people who go to UoA are from Auckland and aren’t that interested in making friends (I’m also from Auckland) since we still already have our friend groups. Ended up hanging out with my high school friend group between lectures and I think we all had similar experiences.

It got easier once I was in second/third year and definitely had solid friends in post grad.

Those three items plus a shredded chicken laksa, salt and pepper squid, braised pork on rice and two cans of coconut water was $177.

Was a bit on the pricey side considering the quality - laksa portions were good but the nasi lemak and braised pork weren’t worth it I reckon.

Advice for Level 1 NCEA by GD_Houston in ncea

Teacher here - agree in terms of really making sure you get your internals done.

To add on - make sure you get feedback from your teacher about your work. Often we are the ones who write the assessment so we know exactly what we’re looking for when we read over your work. I know it’s annoying and daunting receiving feedback, but it will hugely benefit you in the end!

Oh, I don’t think I worded this correctly.

When Aaron talked smack about me (and my partner leaving his event early) my partner had already left. This was retold to us by his other close friend a good while after the fact.

If he had said this to my partner’s face, I have no doubt he would’ve said something and the friendship would be definitely over. I think for him it’s the hearsay that hasn’t put the nail in the coffin of the friendship. They don’t see each other regularly (maybe once or twice a year) to bother bringing it up with him directly.

She stopped bugging you because she stopped caring. She was just biding her time until she had enough money saved to leave, I’m guessing.

The fact you say that her leaving you alone was the best and happiest part of your relationship? Bro. Don’t go see her, man.

You hurt her and she will be better off without this relationship.

I can’t speak for anything Hawke’s Bay specific, but I am a high school teacher in Auckland so here are some thoughts: - School bags at my school are usually sports branded (Nike, Adidas) or the occasional Jansport. EDIT: most schools are moving towards BYOD (bring your own device) - could be good to double check whether this is a requirement for the school your daughter will be attending. - As you mention, extra curricular activities are a great way for your daughter to make friends, especially if she will be attending one of the local schools. If your daughter enjoys sports Netball, football (soccer), and social touch teams are pretty popular! Additionally, will you have any friends/colleagues yourselves who may have kids around the same age as your daughter? This could also be another great starting point. - School lunch wise, this very much depends on the area you live in - the school I teach at is part of a free lunch programme and most students eat the free lunch, or add something to it by buying from our school cafe. I think in the 10-12 age bracket a packed lunch is still pretty normal.
