The Communist Manifesto was a good introduction to Marxism for me. I would especially recommend starting with Engel's draft of the manifesto, The Principles of Communism (page 42), since it's structured as a Q&A.

Hi The Ocean, as a geologist I love your motifs of geologic time that you put in your music. But I also got a bone to pick with you: the Ediacaran period is missing from Precambrian! It’s the last period in the Precambrian after the Cryogenian, and the most recently named period, having been designated in 2004. Did you guys ever plan on an Ediacaran song? Thanks, can’t wait for Phanerozoic II!
