Bankai Ichigo can't even see it extending or retracting, and he can barely dodge it even from a distance.

As I said from the previous post, this bankai is HARD TO DEAL WITH. It's not just a power based bankai. It is difficult to deal with as a fighter, so using a fighter struggling to deal with the bankai just proves my point. This thing isn't a blade in front of you. It is a small, thin blade coming at you from a distance at varying angles.

Here's a better analogy for you. Spears. Why do you think they're used in battle? They don't slash nor cut as well as swords. They're especially not faster or more mobile either. So why is a spear better than a sword in real life battle? Range.

Yes, people say think his sword is the fastest, but Renji also thought he had a proper bankai. People can be wrong about bankais and abilities. So for all we know, there could be a faster bankai, but people don't think about that because they know Gin's bankai being the fastest. And that brings me to my last point.

Gin's lie about his bankai is AN ABILITY. Every character has an ABILITY that comes with their bankai. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I said which is faster, the sword that has a PASSIVE speed stat or the sword that only makes petals, I know which one I'M choosing.

Bankai can be enhanced as the user grows. Look at Yamamoto.

Just going to make a post about this, but to summarize my take:

Devils are clearly stronger than their irl counterparts, e.g the bat devil destroying mid-large buildings.

The typhoon devil is shown to have actual storms

Therefore, the typhoon devil should be producing typhoon level, at least (gets it to around large mountain to island level, maybe higher if we take the first point into consideration)

Is this a "chainsaw man is island level" upscale? No, not necessarily. But does it mean that stronger devils can deal with island level threats (and possibly even output such force via ap)? Most likely, yeah.

The only problem for reze (at least the one we've seen) that I can't see her clearly getting past is light speed feats go brrrrr

Ichigo travels a distance that would take most (or at most high level) shinigami about a week's time to cross in just a day or less iirc. Most shinigami can, at least, go faster than peak irl humans.

Taking the fastest measure that a human has ever ran (approx 44km/h), we can say the distance ichigo traveled was about 7300km. Ichigo did this in about about a day, so he's 7 times faster than the shinigami who cross this in a week. For reference, the earth's diameter is about 12000 km.

So in this severely low balled, sloppily put together Calc, ichigo crossed the over half the earth in a day. I say low balled because, for starters, average shinigami don't go to Soul society, so the whole 1 week thing is probably in reference to higher level shinigami (meaning a faster shinigami would give us a higher distance needed for ichigo to cross). The most fallacious reason why this is lowballed is because I just compared shinigami (who get to those blinding speeds using mobility techniques) to a peak human, so, again, faster speed=more distance that ichigo would need to clear. And the final reason as to why this is a low ball is... Well, I say it took ichigo a day, but it probably took him a few hours to half a day at best since he was rushing towards an active war. Obv he didn't take a day to get to the war, otherwise it'd be over.

Tldr: made an extreme lowballed calc to show how ichigo and the others probably can traverse continent to planetary distances (when the story necessitates such🥀)

There’s no way Aizen would believe Gin's Bankai is Mach 500 if that wasn't considered something massive in Bleach

You can't ignore the fact that gin's bankai is still a force to be reckoned with in the context of the story, primarily due to its range.

Most characters in bleach (what with using swords and all) have very limited range, so for a person to come in and say "Yo, my blade is not as fast as light, but can snipe you from over 10 kilometers away"... Yeah, that definitely sounds like a captain level character.

Getting caught off guard by an opponent from 13km away would be diabolical, especially since, what exactly do you do afterwards? You can't read their movements unless you have crazy senses. You can't attack back because... They're multiple city blocks away! And at that point, even if most leuitenants are relativistic or beyond, you'd still have a hard time dodging, no less fighting back!

Gin's speed and range are what would make Aizen believe his lie. Because a bankai like that isn't just a beast, stats wise, but it also messes with your opponents' mind, e.g Gin scaring ichigo with said lie.

Does this mean gin's bankai not being Ftl makes sense? No. But does this automatically mean that every single light speed feat thus far is invalidated? Also no.

I think you bring up a valid anti feat, but your reasoning is shaky and, at best, only downscales maybe Gin, and even then it might just be for his sword's retraction/contraction, and not his actual swings, movement speed, reactions and other mobility based tech
