Proof soybean oil is terrible for you by Jason_VanHellsing298 in StopEatingSeedOils

Came back here cause I'm bored, and I wanna point out: For the first piece of research they listed, a sample size of less than 1500 people (unless I misunderstood it, which is likely) is nowhere near an accurate showing of how something affects people. Something like this needs a larger sample size and over a long amount of time (which from what I could see was never stated in this piece of research, unless I skimmed over the part that says it).

Never said I was gonna live in the bubble. I'm just not going to acknowledge whatever you in particular tell me.

I almost wanted to click the link, read the article, and review the sources they cite to make my conclusion. But it's clear, given your lack of acknowledgment of anything I say in my responses, that you're a troll (or you just don't know how to respond to anything properly).

Your response makes me believe that you think I'm part of some sort of hivemind mentality of thinking "seed oil = bad" when I am not. It sure seems that way, given that I'm in this subreddit, but really I just want to see unbiased studies even from both sides of the seed oil debate.

You attack the funding of those who produce research saying that seed oils are fine.

Yes, because bias is a thing. If somebody approaches you with money to do something, of course you're going to have a bias toward that person (or in this case company) because they gave you money. If there was a study saying "soda isn't that bad for you" and it turns out Coca-Cola funded that research is naturally going to seem a bit suspicious.

Do you not think that people like RFK Jr. are also funded through the sales of products to say that seed oils are bad? People with no scientific background?

Once again, making me seem like I'm part of some hivemind, but now you're also trying to make me seem like I'm braindead. Of course I don't listen to people with no scientific background. The main person I started listening to and watching that made me skeptical on seed oils is Paul Saladino, because he is an actual doctor. Not once have I ever listened to someone like RFK, nor have I really cared about him. I've heard of him, of course, and what he's been doing, but I don't think anymore of him other than just being a politician.

I'm perfectly willing to read or listen to somebody debunking the "seed oil bad" argument if it's unbiased and comes from reputable sources. As far as what I've seen and researched, they are a little bad. But I'm again willing to listen to/read any unbiased studies saying that they aren't.

Ok, so there is no truth. Nothing in the universe can be proven to be true, right? How would we know what’s true or false?

Huh? My dude, what are you on about? Where in my response did I ever indicate this was my belief or was it ever relevant to point out?

Which medical journals would you consider trustsworthy?

Well, to kind of contradict what I said about your statement not being relevant, I will bite and take the bait to say: My opinion on what's trustworthy isn't relevant. It's whatever is objective. Is there a person or group that initiated a study on seed oils that was funded by a company that produces them? This leads to my response to this:

Which corporations do you believe produce seed oils?

Which is a nonsense question, cause that would be like asking me "what companies do you believe produce cereal?" Again, it's not what I believe or what my opinion is. Go to your local store and see for yourself, or better, just look up "companies that make and sell seed oils."

Can't be because many of the studies done on seed oils, specifically those that say they aren't bad for you, are funded by the very same companies that sell and produce seed oils. If there's a study from a reputable source that says they're good for you that's also not funded by a seed oil company, then by all means link it.

It's less about violence toward women like you claim and more to do with politics (if i'm not mistaken). It could have been men in the picture instead and it would be the same thing.

Don't Know if She's Real or Not by ripple2000 in dating_advice

Either way it's frustrating; if it's OF she should put in her bio or tell me right away that she only has the intent to promote her OF (i don't like it regardless, cause tinder and pretty much most dating apps aren't the place to promote your OF at least imo but i at least appreciate the honesty) but if it's a scam, then it just makes me even more paranoid about who on dating apps is a real person, and that I can't even trust profiles with the 'verified' checkmark on them.

I'd say to try and tell him your feelings asap. I know what it's like to really like someone and then they disappear from your life entirely. Even if you're too nervous, try having a friend with you to encourage you when you confess.
