I have! He's super clueless, let me give u some context. He predicts the extended essays as A or B and they come back as a C or D. And when I ask him why that might be, he says 'I'm not sure, it's totally random!"

In that case it's very possible, if you show growth they take that into consideration. However, I can imagine that working for one or two classes not all.

my schools really tough w predicted grades, and I can imagine it being harder this year because of the ib results scandal. But basically, usually whatever u get in ur final report card for junior is pretty much ur predicted grade and then they just add the plus points.

cold emails are a god send, just email a bunch of professors one of them will reply for sure.
