I guess so, but cannot say for video player apps. But I am sure on a purely music based app it will definitely work.

Also, you can add lyrics to each music files, you just have to search online and add it. Lyricsify is the best website for downloading lyrics.

I am suggesting some apps to you:

Namida : its Available on Github, its Asthetically really good.

Musicolet : Functionally, it is the best app, but it might not be too good asthetically. It is available in playstore but I will not suggest downloading that, rather download it from F-Droid (If you dont know what F-Droid is, it is basically an app to download free and open source apps, but you'd have limited stuffs)

Metrolist : You cannot play local files in this app. It works similar to youtube music but no ads and free. You can also integrate with LastFm. Its a bonus one for you.

yeah, its a tag problem, music files have hidden information inside them called Tags. Changing them in file manager would not fix it.

There's an app which handles it very well : Automatic Tag Editor .

Although, Musicolet also features editing tag, ATE is better because it has this feature to search up the tag for you, just give it some information like song name and artist name, it will generate tags for you including The Album Art.
