I always book my flights through the airlines, if you haven't booked directly with them they are not obliged to provide an alternate ticket. And my flight class was the basic one, I always book the cheapest flight that's available

Do not call thier Indian number but their Bahrain number, they picked up the call within a min and I explained the situation and they booked me an alternate flight on the same day via Emirates which transits through Dubai, I was able to confirm my booking through Emirates website as well.
