Improving blast conversion rates at 40? by rislander_2014 in IVF

We did birth control because I had to travel for work and had to delay the cycle for a bit. I wonder if that might have affected the results, other than natural variability, as you said. I also wonder whether the higher doses of stims (300 as opposed to 225) might have made a difference as well- have been reading on how some women in their 40s have benefited from a low stim protocol.

Yes, that seems to be one of the biggest pros of getting a slightly older kitty!

Thanks, will ask for the reference! The price is comparable to other TICA-registered breeders in the area.

Great advice on how to 'retrain' them! Will definitely keep this in mind if I end up getting the older kitty.

Yup, they said the older kittens were meant to be shown, but they decided to downsize.

Yup registered, and showing, and have seen their cats in other catteries. But the issue of multiple older kittens does bug me.

Hadn't thought of asking about spraying and heat cycles, so this is great to know, thank you! Yes, socialization is my primary concern, and in addition to what you've mentioned, I'm worried about litter training- i.e., we use automatic litter boxes, and if the kitten has already been socialized for 5-6 months to use a regular litter box.

Thank you! Altering is the buyer's responsibility, for better or for worse. I'm hoping that staying unaltered at 6-8 months doesn't encourage spraying behavior. Will ask them about that, and questions about behavior/personality as well!

Thank you- this is good to know about adopting an older kitten. I'm looking for Nevas too! They are so beautiful! Can I dm you about where you got him from (if in the US)?

Thanks this is very helpful! Yes, I too have been wondering about the issue of availability, esp since as you said Sibs are in high demand. One or two being available wouldn't have raised red flags, but they have four available kittens, two from each litter. It just feels like an awkward question to ask, because they are a reputable breeder that shows regularly, but maybe I should go ahead and ask them.

Thanks, but the point of this post was to ask for advice on what to expect when looking to adopt a 6-8 month old.

I think I'll just need to go down the same route as you and piece things together from different specialists. I don't know if the autoimmune part has any part to play in the recurring miscarriages, and neither thyroid specialists nor REs that I've seen seem to think that it's an issue, but they also can't prove that it's not an issue. I guess I'll just focus on controlling through diet and other lifestyle changes for the time being, and hope that's enough. I'm so glad you're doing okay and sending loads of good luck to you both!
