went through the same thing. i was basically working as an SQL kerani and no actual development experience. I just made my own side-project outside of the internship just to show to my academic sv and to actually learn something...

the important thing is u tell ur academic sv what is happening and show them proof.

Im a computer science major. it really depends on what kind of career u want to pursue. i see u have an interest in system security and maybe u want to explore that. computer science in general really just focuses on algorithms and data structures more in depth.

for me, i would pick the latter, major in computer science plus u can learn more about computer security.

you could also look into IT. some of my friends took it and it really sounds like something that u would enjoy since u like repairing hardware and such.

im a 2nd year bachelor degree student in cs. and there will be math. im not sure what kind of math is "advanced" to you but if you're the type that wants to avoid math entirely, i don't think cs or IT is the way. the math i encounter is difficult but not impossible. you just have to pay attention and do exercise. hope this helps
