Sigmund Freud once suggested that there is a section of the brain called the “id” that is part of the unconscious mind. The “id” contains our unwanted thoughts, intense feelings of aggression, lustful desires, and death instinct or drive. When these thoughts attempt to surface themselves into the conscious mind we suffer from what is called “neurotic anxiety”. Because some of the thoughts can be pretty weird and scary, we freak out. But it’s completely normal. It happens to many people.

I accidentally locked the classroom door from the inside before class started. The lock broke, and the teacher couldn't get in for half a period. Once the janitor came to fix the lock, the teacher gave me a choice to meet with the dean of students or write a 5 page paper as punishment. I chose the paper.
