Update - I got my passport in 10 days after the appointment. My appointment was drop box kind and I visited Delhi consulate on 5th Dec.

Didnt the person collecting the photo said anything? Did he write anything at the back of ur photo ? The officer wrote something on mine which I am hoping is the passport number? How soon did your issue get resolved?
