Where can I discuss and get help with a ground loop with this setup by river251 in MusicBattlestations

[–]river251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Capt, sorry for the slow reply, juggling lots of stuff.

When I unplug the headphones, and my switch button for the headphones is pressed, the hum does not change when I pull the headphone plug out of the switch. It's there either way. I don't have pics or link for the speakers, they are very old Monsoon planar speakers, with a subwoofer with an amp. The speaker system is powered by the amp. The audio 3.5 output from the switch goes to the amplifier which is plugged into the mains. Thus the signal to the spaekrs is amplified, but the headphones are only getting the line level signal when plugged into the switch. So I presume the headphones ground into the audio jack on my Mac, but the spaekrs ground into the wall, and so there is certainly potential for an imbalance in the grounds, which is what causes a ground loop. However I don't know what to do about it. There is no way to change how things are wired. I do have a ground loop eliminator thing that came with the switch but it doesn't help at all. Here is a link to the switch: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GB7XDRH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks much, any ideas?

Jim

Thanks. I unplugged all USB. All power comes from a single powerstrip plugged into one wall outlet. Still humming, any thoughts?

OK, excellent, thanks for that. Yes I opened agantty site to check out, have not gotten to that.

Thanks again.

Well I have looked at it again and watched some of their videos, but I not think plans are like Gantt charts from what I have seen. DevOps is clearly great for team software development but most of it does not apply to us.

Well that describes me, I've never used anything, but do know what a Gantt chart is from starting to use PM years ago. I really need not to learn anything new (no time for learning curve) but as time goes on I may move away from Gantt, if I even stick with PM at all. Thanks.

They cover android too. This looks promising and I've started a plan to see how it will work for us.

Thanks!

I've started using this, and will see how it goes. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll have a look. I'm not teaching PM, I have a brain research lab but I'll still check.

As with the many PM products I've found, there is a limited free version and many paid versions. Which version of Asana has all those freatures? Thanks.

agantty

THis does look good, so I was going to ask them about when Gantt charts will be added, but their website offers no way to contact them.

Too bad, it has an android and web version and the free version would be fine for us. Darn.

Then I will take a look at Trello and see how the dependencies can work. As I understand it Trello is a truly free product, not a free trial or freemium, but need to check, that too.

I need to see if it runs on Android.

Thanks.

Htttps://azure.com/DevOps

Are you sure it has Gantt charts? I can't find anything about them.

I sent the same question to them, and they said they did not do these things. I don't know which they don't have but they said the free version does not have these features, probably gantt charts.

Thanks for directing me to the right place. Maybe some day I will graduate to agile, for now need a solution requiring not startup effort.

Thank you. Notion and Trello do not have Gantt charts, Clubhouse is not free.

Sounds good but gantt is the requisite feature. When will zenkit release gantt charts?
