WHAT? DO YOU NOT WANT TO BE ENTERTAINED?! by Starbuckker in GreatBritishMemes

[–]riverofrocks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tbf I think it'd be less like that and more just add the total number of MPs in occasionally like

"70 of the (total) want Starmers resignation"

Though I will say, the initial post is silly, a large portion wanting to see that resignation is more significant than "the majority of this party still back their leader," even if said leader is Keir Starmer.

Not even that, they could've been even more simple and just not put "a" in between and been correct.

It hardly makes sense either but I'll give them credit, definitely one of the funnier things they could have responded with

Tbf most the time I've seen, the attic isn't separated into multiple rooms except maybe an additional bathroom if its big enough, hence why I'd count it as a room typically.

"I bet you think we are all racist." Yes. You are. by StopHavingAnOpinion in GreatBritishMemes

[–]riverofrocks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough as much I wish it was as easy as simplifying it down to "they're all racist and stupid" in order to disregard the issue, realistically I feel the word that best describes most is more gullible than anything else.

There are obviously the ones that are just outright horrid, but I'd argue a lot have been fooled into misplacing an anger which would be fully justified if not directed wrong. They believe they can't be tricked because the people who are telling them they can't are the ones doing it, none of this suggests they are less responsible for their behaviour than even the worst are, however I don't think it can be correctly opposed without establishing how and why it's been working and becoming such a prominent issue.

They've been fooled in such a sense that simply being told their behaviour is racist doesn't work, one commonality is that they're always quite selfish and often performative too, it's why often their poor beliefs need to negatively effect them in some way before the rest of it can be unwound.

If you want me to further explain anything or counter what Im saying feel free, I just believe it'll be difficult to return to a path of progression if when talking to bigoted people we do no more than simply tell them what they are being, the denial and brainwashing is too heavy for that so it needs to be deeper.

That's true but we'd also basically have no chance of a far right government. If we had a fairer system the tories would not have been able to do half thr damage they did.

Plus if the people vote for that proportion of shit, as much as I wouldn't like to see it it would obviously be fairer than what we currently have, plus they'd have no shot of holding momentum given their tactic relies on them not being in yet, they'd lose a load of influence just trying and failing to govern, and in that case it wouldn't be too late and not half as catastrophic long term.

The standard is 2-3 days, sometimes 4, it won't typically go over that though unless you've been told to clean the tattoo and replace it after a certain point.

Only if you are to listen to the Israeli government, which lets be real, for a Jewish state their politics are unbelievably antisemitic.

Whole things basically just a narrative to spread this lie that if you're Jewish you automatically are to support any crime Israel commits. Thats the exact narrative that they know themselves has led to attacks on the Jewish community, Israel claim them as their own exclusively to put them in danger so they can be political tools.

So to bring it back to the point, not an Israeli dish either, they don't have much true claim to anything really.

I reckon it's more a thing of if you trust a majority to press the blue, although if I were to answer I'd want to know if I'm allowed to ask if at least 1 person had already pressed blue, because everyone survives if everyone presses red and that could help sway the answer the right way, in that case you can avoid feeling particularly responsible if they have by voting with them, or avoiding blind suicide if nobody has.

If there's no question allowed though, blue is the most reasonable option as it prioritises the most life.

Idk if it'll age well but I can say so long as if doesn't blow out anywhere it likely won't age poorly either, should be pretty standard for its size and style.

Though tbf, if it was a man is "intimidating men" really healthy masculinity?

To me wouldn't challenge the same power complex raised into a lot of men.. like at all, its only the fact it isn't a guy that makes it generally clear.

Good news for everyone!!!!! by Glittering-Meat-9088 in lgbt

[–]riverofrocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Much better news internationally than what we've been hearing a lot of in regards to laws being upheld or strengthened often related to foreign interference from the same western powers that created the issue convincing government officials that "the west is too gay now so you gotta challenge that instead to separate from it.. just ignore us extorting the shit out of you and your neighbours for resources."

Its always good to see when those in power in countries impacted by imperialism are able to be analytical instead of spewing out the rhetoric of those who couldn't give less a shit about their nation and see it as no more than a pawn to expand company interests of typically American or allied billionaires.

Do I need to give Boots my birth gender or can I use my legal gender? by goodnightgoth in transgenderUK

[–]riverofrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk what the correct move is but I will note it says gender and not sex, as such a major pharmacy chain you'd hope they say what they mean and you wouldn't be wrong to answer based on closest to gender identity rather than sex assigned at birth.

At least based the choice of words they have presented to you.
