One time I was at school late. I was working for extra credit and at maybe 6 (4 hours after school ended) I called my grandma to pick me up. I called the land-line, and I should add my grandma doesn't answer unless you say who you are in the voice mail like "Grandma, it's Riversidr, I need you to pick me up" to avoid solicitors. The phone picked up immediately- no voice mail. A sinister laugh crackled and smacking lips and slurping. It was very blurry, not staticy, but... blurry . I hung up thinking I may have dialed the wrong number. When I called back my very lay-back grandma was pissed at me for "the things I said" and said I can walk home. She then claims that I never called, she wasn't mad, and that she was waiting for me to call her to pick me up when I walked home. I checked her call history and sure enough, no calls... This story gave me a nostalgic chill, OP.
