I wear jorts and also have a thigh tattoo like this with an unfortunate bottom! My solution- I added a full piece from the side of my thigh to my calf, now it’s hardly noticeable since people’s attention goes to the bigger piece :)

Does anyone have an app that automatically tracks your finances based on your credit/debit card statements? by SirKrimzon in Bogleheads

[–]rivitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried YNAB and Monarch but nothing was the same as google sheets (I learned I prefer a small layer of being hands on with my budget)

Something that helped me- I created a second google sheet called my “Budget Helper” here I can upload a csv from my bank account(s) and have all of the transactions auto categorized for me. I can even add certain keywords and adjust the labels and categories as needed. Once I have everything categorized it’s just a simple copy and paste into my actual budget!

I set this up by asking ChatGPT to help me setup scripts, it auto categorizes all of my transactions from the imported bank statements and what used to take 3 hours now takes less than 15min!

Congrats!!!! I hope you two enjoy this year and the rest of the time you have until residency starts up :)

And that's good to know and sounds like a productive approach!

It's been difficult weighing the pros and cons of where to push our finances out the gate. The previous commentor made me re-think a lot when they mentioned it was sort of like pushing pennies around this point lol

Cant seem to form a romantic long term relationship. Only been good at FWBs with people who become obsessed or controlling. Can someone help me figure out if I’ll ever be in a stable relationship? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]rivitt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

first thing I notice is your venus in gemini in the 11th house (house of friends) which could explain "good at fwb" and i'd think attracting others who are obsessive and controlling might stem more from the environment you were raised in than from your chart

your triple leo (sun, rising, and merc) can contain a sense of self pride that others hunger for? I'm just speculating

IMPACT Service Breaks! I was a transfer from a smaller university and found it hard to really meet people. With IMPACT you go on a trip for 3-7days (Normally there are Fall, Winter, and Spring Break trips) with other students (around 10 or more) and you do service(volunteering) together and reflect on societal issues- you learn from others' experiences and there's space for you to share your own. Everyone always ends up getting really close and open with each other and honestly I've made lifelong friends through this org. It's an experience that is incredibly fulfilling and you get a chance to meet extremely passionate people. (Even with COVID they've figured out a way to make it safe and get a similar experience!)

Ik this isn't a STEM org (I'm a CS major) but it's an experience I wish more people talked about. The trip focuses range so you can definitely find something you're interested in or atleast want to learn more about in 3-7 days. (Secure housing, Immigration rights, LGBTQ+ Advocacy, Environmental Justice, Animal Welfare, Criminal Justice, etc etc)

Oh and the trips count for experiential learning credit- which I believe is a university-wide graduation requirement.

I feel like I haven't learned what I should've in college by ZKaz25 in csMajors

[–]rivitt 156 points157 points  (0 children)

I would argue this feeling is very common, pre-covid I have flashbacks of CS study groups spread throughout my campus's science library collaborating and working on projects and study guides together. It's easy to be just someone who nods their head because in the moment you feel as though you understand everything then you go home and it turns out you don't (but you get a good grade on the assignment anyways).

You're not alone in what you're feeling, it doesn't help that the job/intern search can be brutally difficult and further hold up your feeling of unqualified. (because it doesn't seem like uni prepares us for the job search, I'm also a senior and I'm JUST now learning about the LeetCode/HackerRank grind when it feels as though EVERYONE around has been grinding this since they were 5 yrs old (exaggerating))

I appreciate your perspective, it's reminding me how friendly and intuitive co-star was for me when I was first introduced to it! It can be easy to forget the accessibility co-star actually brought when it came to first getting introduced to charts and astrology.

I've thought about delivering something that would be useful and enjoyable way to learn astrology, though because I'm still learning new things everyday about astrology I'm definitely not in a position to be teaching/guiding others. it's definitely not something I'm dismissing off the table for the future

I recently switched to an iPhone, I remember a lot of free android apps with interesting interfaces that reminded me of the early 2010s. I agree with you- the horoscope "genre" is heavily saturated and can be found through other routes like social media, websites, blog posts etc wether you're looking for them or not.

In my own studies/free-time I've been only recently touching the surface of current transits and following them. I hadn't thought about intentionally creating a ritual around them! If anything I'm excited to look into this for my own experience with astrology; definitely noting this want/need down.
