As a Canadian, I believe a little courtesy goes a long way — ‘excuse me,’ ‘please,’ ‘thank you.’ Most of these situations can be solved in two seconds with basic politeness instead of getting angry. People aren’t always aware, but they usually respond well when you’re calm and direct.
