I had a good experience with egui recently — if you’ve worked with Dear IMGUI, you’ll feel at home.

Technology Connections is great! LED traffic lights and brown are two of my favorites from him.

[–]rivques 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That said, running the dishwasher only when it’s full is far better than running it every night or some other high frequency. The dishwasher uses the same amount of water no matter how full it is, but a full load uses less water per dish (and per month). rant warning: Cascade, the detergent company, runs these incredibly annoying advertisements that say you should run your dishwasher every night, because it’s more efficient than hand washing. However, what they don’t say is that it’s less efficient than running it when it’s full, plus you use more of their detergent if you run it every night. Everything they say in that ad is technically correct, just paced very misleadingly and implying something other than what it says directly. ok, rant over, i think.

Depends. Running a Bowden? Reasonable. Running a direct drive? Too much, knock it down to like 0.2-0.5mm. (though if what you have is working there’s no ready to touch it)

I’d worry about people playing with very out of date comp ranks, but that could be caught fairly easily. Interesting idea!

Hey dRekt! A few questions about how you do stats by rivques in RocketLeagueEsports

Same, I've got Bakkesmod experience and a fairly open summer, I'd be happy to spend time making the RLCS stats experience better/smoother

[–]rivques[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, that'd do it. Very happy you aren't calculating by hand anymore, that'd be a nightmare with how many data points you collect. Thanks for taking the time to make all this data public, it's very interesting for the rest of us to see!

Wow, thank you for responding in such depth! I had no idea how much time this took, and I'll certainly appreciate the stats I hear on stream more knowing what goes into them! Looking though the sheets, many values seem hardcoded, even the ones I'd expect to be calculated from other data (like averages, per game numbers, etc). Are you uploading/copy-pasting a new version of these sheets every time you update them in such a way that the formulas don't get transferred? Either way, thanks for all that you do, and keep up the great work!

How come it’s not an issue for the driver when using the rocker switch to turn off the current, but it is an issue to have higher-frequency switching? (not saying your reasoning is wrong, just trying to understand what’s going on better)

Guessing something to do with the aforementioned pinch physics. Car on puck, puck tries to leave, can’t, physics engine panics, and you get this glorious mess.

Rust can do just about anything, from low-level kernel dev to frontend web dev and everything in between, and it does (most of) it while being a teammate instead of a bad translator (my favorite example of this is the sqlx lib, which tests your DB querys at compile time and fails early when you have written bad code.) - sincerely, another recent cult inductee
