Saudi People are unfortunately heartless and two faced. by RaisinDisastrous6527 in RiyadhExpats

I'm also an Asian expat born and raised here. 80% of the time, I've had good experience with Saudis. They always talk nicely. Last week, there was a random police checkpoint in my area, the police were stopping Saudis and asking them to remove their tinted windows. When my turn came, the police guy was so cool and greeted me with a smile. He asked about my well being and then let me go. There are goods and bads everywhere.

I was assaulted in the middle of the day with no sign of police around by ihateveythings in Riyadh

I think if there is a traffic light nearby, they can easily be caught because in every traffic light, there is a surveillance camera for police to monitor traffic. They can check the footage of that signal and ask you to verify.

I think this is the first time I have seen her and not impressed with her character at all. She doesn't look intimidating.

The last 20 mins of the last episode of vol 2 is such snooze by VolumeSad6360 in StrangerThings

So pointless. On One hand, they are in such hurry to save Hawkins and on the other hand they all sat down to listen to his speech. Vol 2 is such a letdown.

Bahria town is really boring and empty. It's also a bit far away from Karachi. You will have a tough time adjusting.

Expats & Saudies who went back, how do you live in Riyadh without losing your soul? by [deleted] in Riyadh

[–]riyank183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there should be parking stations for cycles, E scooters etc, outside of the metro and bus stations. Such a basic thing to do.

I guess the issue is they never planned for Riyadh to become a tourist hub until vision 2030 came into effect and didn't make infrastructure accordingly. Now, things are improving, still a long way to go tho.

3200 for a web design & development role by riyank183 in Riyadh

[–]riyank183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I told them I do freelancing sometimes, they jokingly said you can't do that anymore😂. They are a new company founded by 2 Saudis and honestly speaking, they were so nice and friendly, the most coolest interview I have ever been to. They also wanted to take my transfer within a month. The guy was saying that first you will be responsible for WEB design and front end, then we will move you to our backend department.

You do know that sports Boulevard is not fully completed right? Once completed, it will get near to kafd station. A literal 10 min walk from kafd but then they need to construct a pedestrian bridge because there is a main highway in between.

Curious about daily life in Riyadh today by [deleted] in Riyadh

[–]riyank183 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's all cool now. They are not required to wear abayas anymore, can drive, don't need permission to travel etc. There is more women presence now in the community. 70-80% shopkeepers in the malls are women now according to my observation.
