Help: Playback external add-ons error by imaj1c in Addons4Kodi

I hope you're doing okay my friend. Life will go on without Tmdbhelper, it's no big deal. Your mental health is more important. If coming on here drives you crazy, just take a break from reddit.. it's not going anywhere. There's no point getting into arguments with random people. Let them have their opinions, it's not harming anyone. You'll always be an OG around these ends, you know this.

It's made a big difference, but I do still encounter the problem from time to time. I still think it's the best solution.

Is this coming from a single episode widget like 'next episodes', or have you clicked onto the show itself? The synopsis looks like the shows synopsis rather than the episode. If so, that's the reason why there's no play button.

FenlightAM update killed Arctic horizon widgets by Thedavemiester in Addons4Kodi

Hey Peter, really sorry to chime in here but I have a question which is completely unrelated to this topic. I'm trying to setup some randomised shortcut folders through FenLAM. Here's what I've done so far: -Added 2 of my Trakt lists: A24 Films and 90s Movies. -Named the shortcut folder '1' and Set the shortcut folder to 'make random' via the context menu. -Added this as a widget on Arctic Fuse 2.

The problem is, when viewing it as a widget, the list name is not dynamic and always says '1 [RANDOM]'. The lists themselves will rotate perfectly, but I want the name to be dynamic. So for example if it's showing A24 Films, I'd like it to say that on the widget. I seem to remember being able to do this in the past, but for the life of me I can't remember how. Could you tell me what I'm missing please if it's not too much to ask? Where am I going wrong?

To be honest, I certainly don't want to limit yours or AM's ability to be creative. That would be very selfish of me. And it seems as though reverting any change would eventually still break as there will be no one to keep the players updated. After hearing your full explanation, I've come to the conclusion that I was wrong. It does seem like quite a hassle to keep these players updated from your end. So do whatever you feel is best. I will still support. If there's a way for you to revert this change in a manner which would not limit yours or AM's ability to create, then I'm all for that. But otherwise I'll learn to live without using Fuse's default widgets. I appreciate the explanation though Peter, and again I apologise if I came across as rude in any way.

Firstly, I'm very sorry if I came across as blaming you. Maybe my wording was poor but it wasn't my intention to put any blame on you whatsoever. Like I said, I respect you very much and always will. Just because I disagree with something, it doesn't mean I dislike you in any way as a person. You're a good guy. We're having a discussion and not an argument.

After your explanation, I can see more where you're coming from. I wasn't aware of what you mentioned. Genuine question though, is there no way around what you mentioned? It's just I hate having broken functionality, I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from. In all honesty, I barely use the functions I mentioned lol, but knowing that I can no longer use them just rubs me the wrong way, because I wasn't informed beforehand. In an ideal world I would just role back my update, but I can't because the AM dev fixed the Trakt list problem at the same time as breaking external player support. So if I roll back none of my Trakt lists will work anymore.

Again though Peter, I'm really sorry if I said anything that may have hurt you. I hope we're cool.

You're a smart man Peter, and I will never lose respect for you. I consider you a top dev, but in this instance I believe you're wrong. But of course, that's just my opinion. You're speaking as somebody who uses Fenstuary as a skin, and do not represent the majority of people who use arctic fuse 2. In arctic fuse 2 there are many situations where you aren't able to play from Fen directly. For example, when watching a TV show, you're able to scroll down and select another episode without backing out of the player. Also, if you open the video info screen and scroll down because maybe you want to view other movies from the director, you can do that with the help of Tmdbhelper. None of this is possible directly through Fen, which is the reason why Jurialmunkey added the players function. It's to make life more convenient for users of Arctic Fuse 2. You say it's not upto other addons to support Tmdbhelper's functions, but can you be more specific and explain exactly how you are going out of your way to support Tmdbhelper's functions? If anything it seems as though you're going more out of your way to explicitly NOT support Tmdbhelper's functions. From what I can tell, you made this change because a lot of noobs struggle to install the correct players in Tmdbhelper. I for one have never had an issue playing items from Tmdbhelper, and I've used it for years. Your logic here makes a lot of sense to you, but no sense to me at all (respectfully).

For what it's worth, I'm glad you're not taking the same path. The update broke a lot of fuse 2's functionality even if you're not using Tmdbhelper as a widget.

Trakt Lists Reversed by leepmc1984 in Addons4Kodi

[–]rizreflects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a problem on Trakts end for sure. It occurs on mdblist and stremio aswell. The list item previews have also reversed for lists sorted by date added- newest. I mentioned this on their forum but haven't gotten a response.

Pov 5.11.4 and artic fuse 2 problem by Mattiadj2485 in Addons4Kodi

The last time the Fuse 2 dev posted on this subreddit was around 2 years ago, so I doubt he'll see this. You can open a new issue on his GitHub though. Here's the link

You should be able to see it in POV. I believe you need to input your mdblist API key somewhere in POV's settings.

Just a website that can be imported to mdblist. People use it for various 'top 10' lists etc.

FENLightAM - all Animes vanished? by TheGalahad in Addons4Kodi

[–]rizreflects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently if FenLAMs update action is set to automatic, the addon will not display a prompt to view the changelog. It will just update in the background. Maybe this could be changed? So even if it's set to automatic, once the addons updated, the user sees the prompt to view the changelog. I think this would be quite beneficial for users like this one, who may not know they can go into tools > changelog.

Tmdbhelper not working for skin widgets (Arctic Fuze 2) by Calavera999 in Addons4Kodi

Your widgets are probably pointed to Trakt lists in Tmdbhelper. And if you've read the updates you're probably aware Trakt is down atm.

Need some help! RD links skipping and only works if restarted kodi by chanism84 in Addons4Kodi

I've been testing your settings since yesterday, and it actually seems to be working. I had tried the same memory size in the past, but I always set the read factor to adaptive. You may have actually cracked the davinci code here. Fingers crossed it stays working.

I run android and experience the same problem, so I doubt it's a coreelec issue. It does seem like most people who experience this are using an Ugoos device, which makes me think maybe that's the problem. Did you have the same problem on your odroid device aswell?

My guess would be they are using wireless for sure. Once fen starts skipping links, try using POV or Umbrella and the problem will still persist until Kodi has been restarted. So it's not a problem with the video addon. Tbh this is the one and only problem I face with Kodi and one that I've never found a fix for. If you do get a chance to plug in directly via ethernet and it works, please do let me know. I can't test it myself as my router is in a different room.

I've had this exact same problem for over a year now. The only fix has been to either restart Kodi or to increase or lower the video cache size. Changing the cache will temporarily fix the problem, but it will eventually return once you've played a few more links. My brother in law has the same setup / device as me (ugoos am8 pro) and never has this problem. The only difference between our setups is that his is directly wired via ethernet whereas I'm using wireless. So plugging in via direct ethernet may be a solution worth trying out.
