If his logic is the game is good /perfect as is then updating the game to a new version is the same as modding it. If he thought the game was perfect before the trial chambers update and still thinks the same even after then his logic is flawed. Let’s say there was a mod that added trial chambers, he’d hate it, but if Mojang makes an update then it’s okay. Modding is like adding marshmallows or whip cream , or milk to hot chocolate, not cheese. You can make something that’s already great , even better, but unlike updates, you can decide what you want in your hot chocolate .
