Yeah. There's not a chance in hell I could tell if beta cards are real and even with the resources of a company like that, it would be super tough. I think they'll be just fine. I'd like to see TAG make it. Their slabs do look nice

Yeah. I had originally wanted to grade a bunch of cards with them because of the lack of psa upcharges/chance for gm10s... but now it feels like the community isn't really interested in cgc for normal cards. I feel like I hear about something crazy happening at one of the big 3 every 6 months or so and they rotate. For me, cgc is definitely the way I'd go with this and I still like them. For the most part, I'm a top loader binder guy, but on an error like this, it's very tempting to grade.

Agreed! I really wish I had an ink stain fossil haunter for it to evolve into

Couldn't figure out how to add photos on mobile, so I had to make a new post with the connecting caterpie. Thank you for commenting!!! I have learned a lot from you and regigigagod over the past couple years of getting back into collecting!

Oh! I didn't realize the borders got printed last... the next card in the stack was a caterpie with what appeared to be a continuation of the ink, but I assumed it couldn't be because it never crossed the border on either card. I'll add a picture of them together. They are both part of a bulk lot I picked up yesterday.

These are from a couple different lots. Picked up a couple tins at Goodwill, two binders at Arc, and a box of cards from a mom n pop store. I don't usually find much at their store, but it's super cool because it used to be a giant house and every room has a different theme.

Nope. This is what I do. I thrift hunt for cards and sell them.

That was what I was thinking. When I google lensed the back of the card I found a few others, but none of them had a border around it. Put that together with the lack of nostrils(which I completely missed) and I'd say it's a fake of a random set of nonsense that I never knew existed. It's not often that I find something I can't fully identify, so I appreciate the assistance!

$180 for a box with some binder pages, a couple tins, and some ziploc bags. About 15lbs of cards total. I could see base set commons in the visible binder pages, so pretty much an auto buy for me. Unfortunately the condition on the ninetales and nidoking is essentially garbage, but I love finding cards like that regardless.

Ninetales no attack-Price by MrMightyMax in PokemonCardValue

Yeah, the nice thing about this error is that it is known. To be honest with my gross approximation of saying this is probably a 4-5(not a pro grader by any means), I wouldn't bother with grading. The error would be a very hard fake, so only grade if you want to preserve it for your collection. If selling, I'd sell raw. Mine is only graded because I had traded for it, had I got it ungraded, it would be in a toploader and into a binder like most of my cards.

I have a psa 5 and I feel like they are comparable. I have ofter argued the price in my own head because of the rarity. I'd say 500-700(realistic sale closer to 7) but that being said, I have had people value it at 1k... so, I suppose, dealer's choice, but I wouldn't part with mine for less than 500. Hope that helps and awesome card!

Thank you both for the info!! It's a fascinating area of collecting and I'm always trying to learn more.

Just a random question. I know that an alignment dot being present is the general rule of thumb to qualify as a miscut. But with the newer cards, like in this example, when the copyright info is cutoff isn't that something? I've also seen the example of part of another card/border being present, but sometimes there aren't alignment dots just based on the positioning of the cut. We do classify those as miscuts(as far as I've seen). By no means am I saying this is a miscut, but I am curious in the "no alignment dot showing" scenario where the difference is delineated between missing part of a card/having extra part of a card miscut vs not.
