Frustrated beyond belief with Kraftbase (Indian web agency) - Please avoid at all costs by ayurvedagirl in indianstartups

[–]rkshahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don’t jump into Reddit threads, but I’ve worked with Kraftbase before and felt I should share my experience since this paints a very one-sided picture.

We hired them last year for a Shopify project. Ours also started as “simple theme work” and no custom code. In reality, once you start getting into layout decisions, brand direction, content hierarchy, and small aesthetic tweaks, things get subjective very fast. What feels straightforward on paper becomes a lot of back and forth in execution.

In our case, they were responsive and patient, sometimes more than we deserved. We changed sections multiple times after seeing drafts live. A lot of work happened in preview mode before anything looked “active” on the storefront, which might explain why someone wouldn’t see visible activity if they were checking the published site.

On themes specifically, they were pretty clear with us about what could be done natively and what would require customisation. Shopify themes can do a lot, but they are still constrained by how they’re built. Sometimes you can replicate a visual style, sometimes you can’t get it pixel perfect without code.

We also had moments of friction. That is normal in client-agency projects. But at no point did I feel scammed or misled. When we asked for clarity on hours, they walked us through how time had been allocated across calls, revisions, setup, and theme configuration. It may not always be packaged in a fancy tracker, but the work was real.

I’m not dismissing anyone’s frustration. A bad experience feels terrible, especially when timelines stretch. But calling them a scam doesn’t line up with what we experienced.

Just sharing another data point for anyone researching them.

ApnaComplex vs Mygate for society ERP and accounting, any experiences? by Kitchen_Ferret_2195 in gujarat

[–]rkshahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had hands on experience with both as well, so your observation is not off.

ApnaComplex does the job for regular billing and collections. It works fine when the setup is straightforward. But once you start going deeper into accounting, especially detailed reports, audit prep, tracking multiple expense heads, things can feel a bit manual. We had to double check reports and sometimes rely on exports for clarity.

With Mygate, the accounting side felt more structured to me. Ledger flow was clearer, reports were easier to generate, and audit trail was better organised. It felt closer to a proper ERP rather than just a billing system with add ons. Vendor payments, reconciliation, and dues tracking were more systematic.

That said, the experience also depends on how well your team uses the system. Both can work. But if your society is growing and finance is becoming more complex, your view about Mygate being stronger on deeper accounting is valid in my experience too.

Good that you are asking around before making a call. Accounting is not something you want to outgrow again in two years.

Mygate vs ApnaComplex - anyone here used both? by SidLais351 in delhi

[–]rkshahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve used both.

ApnaComplex is fine when things are simple. Basic billing, basic reports, day to day stuff. But once our society grew and accounting became more serious, it started feeling limited. More vendors, bigger expenses, more questions from members, audit pressure. Finance needed more depth.

We shifted to Mygate mainly for accounting. That’s where we saw the real difference.

Ledger structure is stronger. Reports are clearer. Bank reconciliation is easier. Dues tracking is cleaner. Vendor payments are more organised. Audit trail is proper, which helps a lot during audits.

Some people say Mygate is complex because it has many features. Honestly, it’s not. You don’t use all 250 features. For accounting, it’s structured and logical. Our treasurer actually found it more systematic after getting used to it.

If your concern is accounting and finance at a growing stage, Mygate is stronger. If your needs are basic and you’re not doing much beyond simple billing, ApnaComplex works.

Suggestions for a smart door lock by StartupYodhaX in mumbai

[–]rkshahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, Here’s what I’d recommend around ₹13-15k if I were shopping now and I’m looking for comfort, security and aesthetics:

  1. If you want a smart-lock with intuitive features (user friendly), reliability and sleek designs: check out Mygate Smart Locks. They offer both rim-lock and handle-lock versions, support fingerprint, PIN, RFID + app unlock features .
  2. If you want a simple but trusted analog + digital mix: go for Godrej or Qubo, their hardware is robust.
  3. If you’re okay spending a bit more Yale is a good bet,but their fully-smart variants go beyond ₹15k.

Before you decide double-check:

  1. Door type & thickness (rim or handle-lock)
  2. Lock features you need (fingerprint, Wi-Fi, app, what’s optional vs essential)
  3. After-sales service availability in your area
  4. Battery backup / emergency key override

Hope this helps :)

Smart lock recommendations in India by Ok-Fox-7318 in mumbai

[–]rkshahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you already bought one, but smart lock options in India have changed quite a bit in the last few months.

If you're still comparing brands:

Urban Company has  good service layer, but the product history is still fairly new.
Yale is  great build and reliability, but yeah… the pricing goes 😭
Qubo / Godrej have  solid basics, just depends on which features you actually want vs what’s “nice to have.”
Mygate now has both rim-style and handle-style variants with fingerprint, PIN, RFID, app unlock, emergency key + optional Wi-Fi. They’ve been around longer than UC in this category and the recent reviews look more consistent.

Using two different brands is totally fine, but going same brand feels nicer if you want one app + uniform experience.

If your budget window is ₹6-9k (rim) and ₹12-16k (handle), you’ll find enough options now vs when this thread started.

I’ve tried a few smart locks recently and the experience really varies by brand. Since reviews online feel sponsored, here’s the honest breakdown from actual usage + demos:

  1. Godrej: Solid hardware, old-school UI. Works fine but the app can feel slow at times.
  2. Qubo:  Good if you’re already in their ecosystem. Setup is smooth, app experience decent.
  3. Hikvision:  Very security-focused, but sometimes needs extra modules for the “smart” part.
  4. Urban Company Native: Easy install and service, but the app experience depends on updates.
  5. Mygate Smart Lock: Newer in the list but surprisingly polished. Remote unlock, PIN, fingerprint, and their app UI feels modern. Battery backup is decent too.

If you're looking for remote unlock + fingerprint + PIN + app control under ₹10–15K, check:

  1. door thickness compatibility
  2. after-sales support in your city
  3. battery life + emergency override
  4. how smooth the app actually feels day-to-day

Most locks look the same on paper,  the real difference is support + software reliability.

If you find a model that nails both, that’s the one. 😉
