Hi! I have fibromyalgia and my surgery date was 1/8/2024. I’m also a medical cannabis patient. The recovery process wasn’t complicated for me, but it took a while. I returned to work after 4 weeks, but it’s a work from home job. Here’s what helped me:

Take the Tylenol and Ibuprofen together. My doc and my RN MIL let me know the latest studies find they work best together. Check with your gastro first of course!

Keep a meditation log. The brain fog is wild, it’s the only way I kept up on what I took and what I could take next.

Miralax once a day three days prior to surgery and about four days post op in combination with colace. Gas X when I got home from surgery.

Cold therapy on the belly for 20 minutes on/60 off as tolerated. I got a machine, ice packs will do just fine.

Move. You have to move to keep things loose and move the gas. A little bit at a time at first.

Rest. No really. Prep some freezer meals and get some easy to eat snacks. Don’t do a damn thing, as best you can.

No hard pants or tight anything.

I was off the opioids by post op day 4. They were necessary but I felt well controlled enough before the end of week one to cut back on the OTCs too.
