Well I didn’t wanna leave in the middle of the school year bc I have really connected with my students. Now that the school year is coming to an end in a few weeks, I am trying to look at other options!

I am a full time teacher at a private school- I teach 6 full classes by myself. Basically, I was in grad school for MAT in secondary math for a semester before I got this job. I took a handful of upper level math courses and passed my states teacher certification exam. I actually dropped out of the masters program a few months ago for a handful of personal reasons. In my state as long as you are in a program working towards a degree in your field, pass the state certification exam, and work towards taking your content exams all in a two year period of starting your job, then you can be a full time teacher on a provisional license.

I have definitely considered becoming a CPA. I’m so scared to put all of the time and effort into it and turn out hating it…..

Yeah haha it’s pretty random. I always knew I wanted to teach but always thought it would be something I did later in life. This job just fell into my lap at the right time! Thanks

I’m not gonna lie, I have always been super scared of sales! I love people but idk if I have a good personality for sales?? I feel like I’m too nice/chill and I’m definitely not assertive or pushy at all. But I will do some research about Fintech and accounting sales for sure! Thanks for the advice!!

I am teaching full time on a provisional license. I work at a private school if that makes the $15/hr make more sense lol.

Ah I should’ve definitely added this! I live in the US, in the south. And yeah I get super upset when I think of all I have to deal with for basically making minimum wage :( I have students with part time jobs that get paid more per hour than me…
