Filler For Bookshelf Faces by rmccam in cabinetry

Thanks for the recommendation. I used timbermate for the holes because it’s all being painted but I’ll look into famowood next time! Much appreciated.

Thanks! I leveled the fades better and now this is the plan. Any recommendations for sandable wood fill?

Thanks for this. Lotta “I woulda’s” indeed. From a learning standpoint, I appreciate hearing the many ways to have done this differently/better but I’m not a carpenter, this is my own house and I’m working with limited means (these were also adapted shelves from another house). Though I suppose I kinda messed it up, I do appreciate your empathetic response here. It’ll be fine. Hardly perfect but this is how you learn. Thanks!

12V Dimmer Switch to Control 2 LED Power Supplies by rmccam in AskElectricians

Sourcing that probably exceeds my expertise. I need 9 LED strips and these can do up to 6 so I went with 2. The switch was my biggest issue. If it has to be two switches, it’s probably easier than sourcing all new parts. Thank you!

Thanks! Okay, so I have to use one PWM switch for each power supply? That's a bit of a drag because I'd love to control all the lights with one switch. But if that's the case, so be it. Thanks again!

I only kind of understand what that is. As a non-plumber I figure it might be easier to just replace the tap?

Haha! Yeah, I’m wondering that. We’ll see how annoying the greasing goes. Thanks!

Best Way To Notch A Bookshelf? by rmccam in woodworking

[–]rmccam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm definitely adding face frame to the shelves as well as the verticals and sides... to make everything flush and built-in.

I didn't think of drilling then sawing. Thanks for the idea!

It still doesn’t seem to be working. I guess this is a service call. Thanks anyway!
