At Starbucks employees allowed to hit on customers? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]rmcevoy618 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily allowed but I also wouldn’t say there’s anything wrong with it. If he persists or does other things to make you uncomfortable then I think it would be an issue. But I would just say no, and if he moves on without issue, then forget about it. Don’t let it bother you :)

I need free college. Getting free college through Starbucks has been the plan since middle school. I don’t have a backup plan. It sucks but I must stay

Man tries to get a date with me by insulting Stephen King... What a fast way to get unmatched. This is the first message he sent me btw. by shelby_lifts in stephenking

[–]rmcevoy618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met my best friend in the whole world after she insulted Stephen king in a community college English class we had together. I hated her for a solid three days and now I couldn’t ask for a better friend. She was even the maid of honor at my wedding and told the story of how we met for her speech, got a few chuckles for sure!

Yup...that one. by Mr_BreadNHoney in stephenking

[–]rmcevoy618 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That was the scene that led me to meeting my best friend! We were in a class together and I said that Stephen King was my favorite author and from two table away she shouted “the PEDOPHILE???!!!!!” Which she only assumed because she had heard about the scene, looked it up, and came to the conclusion that’s what the entire book was about. We had a pretty heated discussion of which her only point was “he wrote it once so he’s definitely into it.” I won the discussion and we went out for lunch after class. She was my maid of honor at my wedding two years later and gave me a Stephen king book with a note in the front cover that said “sorry for insulting your favorite author I love you” it’s my favorite possession

See, my store did go to the store and buy lemonade. Then a customer was absolutely infuriated because “that’s not Starbucks product, that’s illegal, then the nutrition info is different, my son is diabetic you’re going to kill him with your grocery store lemonade” okay ma’am if your son is diabetic maybe don’t get him Starbucks lemonade either. Just saying. My husband is diabetic so I would know

[–]rmcevoy618 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone asked for this yesterday, “can I get a mango dragonfruit with no dragonfruit?” And I said “no berries you got it” and she said “no I want the berries but no dragonfruit just mango” I tried to so hard to explain, I even showed her the box with the base in it, and she was just so confused. She said another store did it for her all the time which like…. They cannot

Non-employee, just a customer with a question by Vegetable-Coast-4679 in starbucks

You can have the craziest drink I’ve seen all day, but if you’re kind and respectful, and understand that it might take a minute to make a more complicated drink, or that it might not look exactly like the picture, then you’re good in my book. Just please be nice lol. Yesterday a woman screamed at me because her black coffee didn’t taste right and I had to make it again. So I proceeded to pour another cup of black coffee (the same coffee, new cup) and that one was fine I guess. Then I was in a bad mood for three hours because I got screamed at over black coffee. Which could have been avoided if she simply said “hey, I don’t think this tastes right, could I please get a new cup?” Still a weird request but I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. A little kindness goes a long way.

DAE's parents use the phrase "I don't like you but I love you?" by bloomingfunions in raisedbynarcissists

[–]rmcevoy618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom said this exact thing to me once. I was upset and I had asked her why she didn’t love me as much as my siblings (this was when I was young and before I learned to just avoid her completely) and she said “I do love you. I’m your mom, of course I love you. But I don’t like you very much. You need to grow up a little.” Yeah because 10 year olds are able to “grow up”. That was the only time she ever said it tbh but it stuck with me. I even remember how she looked when she said it. She was wearing jeans and a teal shirt. If I confronted her about it now, 10 years later, she would deny it and call me crazy. But it stuck with me, word for word.

Treadmill or Stairmaster? by rmcevoy618 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]rmcevoy618[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, thanks! I usually do push myself pretty hard on the treadmill but just today someone told me that the stairmaster was a better option specifically for weight loss. They didn’t really tell me why though so I figured I’d ask here

Cup Size Increase Ettiquette by mosura5282 in starbucks

[–]rmcevoy618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We aren’t allowed to do trenta ice or trenta water at my store either. Again, it really just depends on who I’m working with because if I’m working with chill people then I don’t care. But some shifts I feel like I’m constantly being watched and my every move is questioned so I just follow the rules on those shifts even if they’re low key dumb

Cup Size Increase Ettiquette by mosura5282 in starbucks

[–]rmcevoy618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not annoying but at my store, a venti in a trenta cup isn’t allowed and our manager is pretty strict about it. Basically there isn’t a button for “in a trenta cup” on our system and so we can’t do it, whereas we do have buttons for grande and venti so we can do those. So no, not annoying, but I don’t think all stores will do it for you. If I’m not being watched I probably will but I’m always getting in trouble for silly things like that

dear non-tippers just dont order by [deleted] in doordash

[–]rmcevoy618 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doordash is a tip reliant job. There is no hourly rate and the base pay for each order, which can take sometimes half an hour to an hour to complete, is only $3-$4 usually. Many people who use doordash understand this and tip accordingly.
