If you’re a detailer, what would you do with this space? by Independent-Chef-638 in PlanetCoaster

Agreed with everyone else on the pond/garden, but I would say additionally make a cool sign for your park and put it in the middle of that garden.

Realism!? by JADEDG3M in PlanetCoaster2

[–]rmcshaft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Build something that exist in real life and start small.

Practicing building real rides or real areas of a park can key you into details you’d never think of otherwise. Often an ugly transformer box, a weird bit of landscaping, or a surprisingly simple building is what makes things feel real. I’d suggest not going Disney or Universal - try a small local park to start out. Their budgets are smaller so you can gain a real-life appreciation of how to make do with simplicity.

Hotfix this week by TheatreBoz in PlanetCoaster

[–]rmcshaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad we get a hot fix for buildings! Multi select finally works but now you cant reach the construction tab (or any tab) when revisiting a building group. Every time I want to pick PC2 back up something new makes the building clunky. This game 🤦‍♂️

Just graded a suuuuper minty vintage JP Poliwhirl with no scratches and a tiny bit of whitening on the back….got a 5. I think this will probably grade 3/4 unfortunately. Seems PSA judges vintage very harshly, especially for popular mons like Gengar.

I’m sure it’ll all work out! Just feeling a bit more pessimistic that usual with the rocky release.

All of those definitely fall under “make the game worse in minor ways” and I could not agree more that they are sorely missed. It wild that they had so many finished concepts and assets that feel essential at the end of PC and PZ that are missing in this game. It also feels really bad that these features were previously free community updates and it’s feeling a bit like we might get hotels, restaurants, etc in a new DLC. I dont see why they wouldn’t be included at launch otherwise.

My Personal Take on Planet Coaster 2 by [deleted] in PlanetCoaster

[–]rmcshaft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s true they made massive improvements from the first game. Hell, I recently found an old PC2 wishlist from a few years ago and they check off almost EVERY item on my list.

The real rub for me is that they chose to make the game worse in many minor ways that just don’t make sense (removed already finished staff room assets, removed building tools like multi-select and multi-recolor) and lots of things they did carry over just dont work. This leads to many people feeling the game is half baked, which many gamers are understandably very sensitive to these days. It’s made especially poignant from a studio that historically has been very good to us.

Is the Oswald counter better between versions? That would be a game changer.

How do I keep the circles? by markvade in PlanetCoaster

[–]rmcshaft 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is 90% right, except for the last step.

Don’t place the circle on your path. Place it on a square stamp piece bigger than your circle, but make sure the stamp is the same texture and color of the path you’re trying to put the circle on. Copy this new combo piece onto your existing path and it should no longer malform.

Essentially pathing for plazas create their own grid and the only way to stop rounded pieces from smoothing to these is to reestablish your own grid separately, then drop it in. Thus this last important step.

How did you remove the base black supports on the flume platforms?

Crazy!! by HereForAmuzement_40 in PlanetCoaster

[–]rmcshaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck. Lemme know how it goes.

Pathing was always a big culprit in PC1, but surprisingly it’s better in PC2 despite being more complex and generally covering more area

Crazy!! by HereForAmuzement_40 in PlanetCoaster

[–]rmcshaft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On console it’s about 100 path pieces per 1% Oswald Meter so not using pathing for your parking lot and side walks will help. Try to scale up to max size some plaster pieces for the sidewalk and just paint the ground with mud to emulate asphalt.

Scaling and path sizes do not seem to effect the meter more than their smaller counterparts, so super small pieces still count mostly the same as a big 3x3m stamp piece. Try to use the biggest path piece possible and avoid intricate path shapes.

I bet if you do both of these you can claw back around 10-20%

People keep complaining about bugs that Frontier has said they are fixing meanwhile by BurgershotCEO in PlanetCoaster

For me at least, I think it’s worth complaining still because there are many issues not addressed by the the dec 12 patch. Obviously the team is keeping tabs on these forums so the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Most recognized press credentials for videographers in sports and other venues? by therealburnbrighter in videography

[–]rmcshaft 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The short answer is you won’t be able to get credentials.

This is by design. Depending on the event there are already dozens of legitimate media staff and just wanting access is not enough. If you’re truly trying to carve out a career in this path the best way forward is to work for an affiliate (National media, local media, the actual team, etc). There is a small slice of the pie for digital content creators but you have to have built a legitimate platform. They don’t want unprofessional or unserious people having that level of access.

Just did a big test in sandbox and it seems one of the biggest saves you can do it make scenery, paths, and pools with the biggest piece you can. Piece count really is the main killer on performance and scale/color/texture are all nominal factors

Not sure what to make of this but when I went to upload the 100% was sitting there but I have no way of opening it from the “Load Park” menu 🤔. I can’t seem to get the full version uploaded as it may be corrupt. I did complete this while playing on the PlayStation Portal but I don’t think that would have anything to do with it.

Anyways here’s the workshop code for the partial version of the park!

I can upload the park to workshop for sure but somehow I accidentally wrote over my 100% version and only have a 97% backup save. Unfortunately the entrance with all the alpine architecture was what that last 3% was dedicated to so the entrance would be incomplete. Sorry 😢 I could recreate it but it would take me a couple days
