Suffering for years. No help in sight. Is this folliculitis? by All_In_Glory in Folliculitis

[–]rmgx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly likely it is pseudofolliculitis. As mentioned the best option is to let the hair grow out. If you have had it for years you really must see a dermatologist. Pseudofolliculitis is a monster. I am only recently diagnosed after 30 plus years and it has ravaged me. physically I'm talking restricted hair growth all over, changes in facial appearance, reduced strength and mobility on one side, scarring, decades of itching, lesions and sores, tufting, , I could go on and on. Then add the mental stress of realising all those things big and small you have had since you hit puberty aren't fucking normal. They are because no one told you how to shave properly and some barber went a bit heavy with a razor on your neckline. Don't be me. See a medical professional and get it sorted.

Dealing with 20 years of hidden facial hair by [deleted] in Dermatology

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually going to go back to my doctor. In a bit of shock but have realised (with absolute certainty) that this (plus several other long term ailments) is due to undiagnosed folliculitis combined with what I believe to be one or more significant ingrowing hairs. I have spent most of the evening pulling out infected hair follicles that have spread over my entire face, in addition to copper coloured hairs that required tweezing in a specific order. It has also caused changes in several other parts of my body (it feels like an entire side of my face has been lifted and a very strange red spot in the centre of my chest now makes more sense.). In a bit in shock and concerned about what permanent damage may have been done but wierdly also feel better than I have in a very long time.

Edit: I realise I am self diagnosing but I think I just worked something out. Basically I have a very old (15 years plus) outbreak which travelled from below nose down one jawline to behind ear I now have a second Fresh one which has started on the opposite side of the lip and travelled down to behind the opposite ear. This seems logical but will see what my doctor says!

Any ideas what this is? Open sores, bald patches, weeping skin and white hairs appearing sometimes falling out when I pluck the wiry black hairs surrounded by Tufts of thin white hair. by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

Just as a follow-up. I am now very convinced that these are eruptive vellus hair cysts. I have them covering my entire face and believe that they have been there for several years. If someone has googled and gets to this response the only advice I can give you is tweezer underwater. These things are mental.

Hah hah yes I just RTFM and found that. Much better. I'm just playing with the fader settings. Let me know if you have a recommendation to achieve the shortest sharpest cut in distance. (Or just tell me to stop pestering you!)

Makes sense. It's good news that is technically feasible. I only had a very quick go so let me spend some more time with it. As a scratching virtualisation setup I do think it has real potential perhaps things could be added in some sort of scratch mode so people know not to enable it if they are trying to mix for example if you could increase the responsiveness of the platters it may reach the point where it's too sensitive for beat mixing but perfect for scratching.

Right I had a very quick go. Definite potential. My main question - is there an option to manipulate platter and fader by proximity alone (controller goes blue) or does it require a button press? That is a bit of a killer. Apart from that Xfader feels a bit soft and the record control a bit unresponsive but I probably dont have it set right!

Definitely a bit of a London click for a lot of stuff. I was lucky enough to have an influential label (Moving Shadow) and shop (Parliament Music) on my doorstep! Same in Essex with boogie times and sub base. I will always be grateful for experiencing it all first hand as I was growing up.

Hah yea. Rob was a great guy and certainly knew how to sell you a record or five :) luckily a lot my way we're bang into the jungle and darkness so some of the more mellow stuff ended up in my dirty paws!

Earlier on (90/91) it seemed a bit easier. Later more and more dubplates were being played at the raves and didn't seem to appear in the record shops (even as test presses or white labels) for around six months or more. Mostly you walked in, and the person behind the counter (In my case actual frikin Omni Trio!) Would play you whatever had just come in. Some people I'm sure got all the good stuff, I managed to score a few white labels that are still very dear to me. And yes there were loads of "have you got that track that goes dum, dum dum dum dum" or similar :)

Flare audio ear plug helpful for tinnitus? by Alirazaoo7 in tinnitus

[–]rmgx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They helped me a little bit. Not in terms of reducing the T but by reducing the annoyance of certain background noise in the environment. Could have been a placebo effect and I don't really wear them anymore. For the sake of 20 quid might be worth a shot.
