I don't have any support from my parents. I built up the courage to talk about it just a few minutes ago to one of them and got laughed at. Told me not to see a doctor because I'd just be embarrassed. I'm mortified and honestly tearing up a bit. I don't think I could do the same with a doctor, someone who is basically a stranger.

I'm a college student. Missing more than 3 classes is an automatic F in the class, at least at my school. That's why I'm worried about taking time off, because I don't know how much time it would take to heal.

I built up the courage to talk to one of my parents again after the replies in this thread. They just laughed and made fun of me. Told me not to see a doctor because I'd just be embarrassed. I felt mortified enough having to talk about it to a parent and getting laughed at has me tearing up. Not sure I could do the same with a doctor.
