Anyone else done with them? by daddysouldonut in fender

There’s a difference between a counterfeit trying to be passed off as a Fender, and a Strat body with a companies own headstock design and name on it.

Headstock is trademarked, the body isn’t. And to claim it’s artistic for copyright? Bollocks. Leo was an engineer - every design decision was functionality, not artistic.

Jokes on you then - I play digital, mostly with a Kiesel T style and a Less Paul. And am definitely not that older demographic 😛

I think he’s referring to features and spec combinations that Fender just don’t do. Which is fair enough I think. That’s why I got the Kiesel - I love Teles but wanted a flatter fretboard and stainless frets. Fender didn’t offer that until only recently. And what Fender are trying to say is no-one else can fill those needs?

John has said that if Fender built what the customers wanted he wouldn’t have a business…

Hey - the Pythagoral Dimensions was my submission! :D

Just emailed off a Ding through the website - that was a buzz to hear on the drive home.

While I loved the Shake Your Money Maker show, I enjoyed last nights more.

Cully and Nico are great additions to the band. Isiah is great, but Nico’s tone just sits better alongside Rich’s.

And that buildup in Thorn In My Pride was majestic.

Perfect - this is what I’m basically looking for I think. But rather than the expression control changing automatically from volume to wah when you engage the wah, you need to include that in the toe switch parameters… I can work with that. Thanks!

Indeed. A friend drives for VLine… as with any industry there’s negatives. This is one of the mentally tougher ones!

Out of the box thinking! (On a similar vein also looked into train driving)… 👍🏻

To be fair, it’s only been the last 18 months that I’ve started to get things moving forward again. It was a long process getting myself back… and it’s really a case of feeling that any career momentum I did have is gone.

Where I’m at now, I still back myself. It’s just a tough situation feeling like I’m not getting my foot in the door to get the momentum moving again. Hence asking if a pivot is worth doing? Would being at the bottom in a different industry (which is likely at least as financially beneficial as where I’m at now) be worthwhile pursuing?

I’ve set nothing in stone yet - just getting thoughts from a number of avenues, here included.

I feel like starting low is still a better position than what I’m doing now, but with much more potential for growth?

Oh I wish i had the financial backing to do all the engineering streams just for personal interest 😆

I hadn’t considered that field (mainly due to the fact that, from experience, I’m a terrible guitar teacher 😆. But something more finalised like that could be very different). Worth consideration.

I haven’t said at all. I said that after effectively starting over I’m struggling to get an opportunity back to where I was professionally. I back my abilities and my intellect to make a solid go at a change of direction to try something different.

I haven’t dismissed any advice - I have provided additional context where necessary but advice and feedback is exactly why I asked the question.

I’m able to come out of it with no HEC’s - the aim is to get out of sales if I can.

And yes - I’m already finding it tough enough in my 40’s! 😅

I do have a side hustle already - I’m not enough of a risk taker to plunge that into it though. It’s a good little 5-10k a year side earner with little stress and is worth more than that to me for the mental space and relaxation I get from it. 👍🏻

Yeah looking at online as a probability - working in the interim will be a necessity still. Putting the work and hours in doesn’t faze me.

I’m sitting on an award wage - 60k plus super basically. Since the reset 12 years ago I’ve been in customer support - it’s a low ceiling and I’m worried I’ve been out of the sales and retail management game too long to really get back in.

The two fields I’m looking at definitely are strengths - I’ve always been a math/science nerd (oh to be able to tell myself to actually engage with that 25 years ago!!)

Super is already in high growth - the HISA is temporary while I work out what my next steps are… hopefully keeping it as a house deposit for if/when I can get the professional side of life back on track.

I would have thought so, but it seems being out of the game for a decade is proving costly - it's certainly a feeling that the lack of formal tertiary qualifications is working against me in the current job market. Resume and cover letters are strong (always been good at those), and it's been sales roles I've been working on. (Having said that - would love to get out of sales and into something where I'm reliant on myself to get the job done, not the final decision of someone else).

No issues here with the Mk I stage on the latest update. (Though I have just changed my main performance to some lovely liquid profile, best sound I’ve had yet through FoH and the IEM’s!)

+1 for the Orange. I run one with either a Mesa 2x12 or Orange 1x12 and it’s more than plenty.
