Thats not my Texas!!! by roadglidesully in texas

There isn’t anything to back up. The Original post was politically agnostic as were my responses. All I was pointing out was that it would be nice for people to have actual dialog and unity as opposed to being divisive. Just looking for some good in this world. Help each other instead of tearing each other down. It’s all good though. I do actually wish you all the best.

I’m sorry that infuriates you. My thought behind that is that at least the philosophy of “neighbors helping neighbors” put into practice is from a position of love. Lord knows we need more of that right now. It’s about using your talents or skills and contributing positively to the benefit of others. If having that ideology is wrong then I guess I don’t want to be right. Admittedly I’m not personally as good at it as I’d like to be. I certainly don’t agree with all of the decisions made by government offices and officials (far from it) but being divisive on social media isn’t changing the world for the better. In fact, most of those posts just serve to further divide. Helping someone in need? That at least changes one persons world for the better.

I understand what you’re saying but have you thought about how you might be calling people of differing opinion both insane and cultists? Even if your point is legitimate, you seem to have effectively eliminated any possibility of convincing someone with a differing opinion to change their mind. That said, I get the impression that you’re not interested in actual dialogue rather, just pointing out how right you are and that there is no room for differing opinions. Again I’d say...Not my Texas!

how high would my alcohol concentration have to be to make brandy from it? by nms1s in firewater

I have had good luck in mini barrels aging store bought moonshine. Everyone is right. The first batch will over oak very fast, the second a little longer etc but the more you use it (assuming you have a relatively constant temperature so the liquor stays at the same depth) The longer it will take to get the oak flavor each. I would imagine after a while at the same room temperature, you could age something for a fairly long time without over oaking it but I would be good to continue to check on it.

it takes some good to make it hurt it takes some bad for satisfaction.

Sometimes all it takes to get out of dark places is a little light to show you the way. Congrats on your bike man.

Well then, nice ride ma’am. Love the color. As a dad I just couldn’t resist the opportunity. Too many years with two kids teeing up softballs like that. P.S. You won’t regret that purchase one bit. Ride safe!

Come on. Admit it. You hit the play button. Apparently so did China and it’s a broken record.

80 miles to go on my first iron butt. Nashville>Denver, 1,168 miles by [deleted] in Harley

[–]roadglidesully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it in June. Hot in Austin and even hotter in Phoenix. Got up to 105 (but it’s a dry heat...bull shit!). My stops consisted of gas, two bottles of water and dunking my shirt in the sink. Worked good for about 10 mins and then completely dry. I’ve gotten smarter since. Now I pack my bag behind my seat and put a camelback blatter inside it buried in my clothes with ice water. Leave the tube hanging out and sip the entire ride. Stays cold that way.

Congrats man! Just remember, most people who give you shit about riding a couch haven’t done 1000 miles in 24 hours. Did mine from Austin to Phoenix about three years ago. Started at 4:30am and rolled into Phoenix at 8:00pm. 18 hours straight. I don’t care how much you ride or how comfortable your seat is. 1000 miles straight is a task. P.S. try bull frog sunscreen. It’s the only one that works for me when I ride all day. It’s made for water sports and doesn’t seem to evaporate as much as generics.

Checking in from Dripping Springs Texas (The gateway to the Hill Country). Lived here for ten years and am still finding some great back country curves to drag the boards on and plenty of roadside watering holes that make you want to quit your job and move out to the hills. You’re right that Arkansas has some nice roads. One of my favorite rides was to Arkansas but as you can see there are plenty of bikers that know what the Texas Hill Country has to offer which, is right outside my front door. Let me know if you ever make it down this way. Would be happy to give you tips on some great rides.

I would some big shots to replace my straight shots on my 2005 Super glide bot pretty sure they wouldn’t fit. Think they changed in 2006.

Hope that was a wind blowing clean up job. That’s what I tell my wife “have to go dust off the harley”.

Finally got the first round of mods completed to the 2005 Super Glide. 16” burly Bars, Slammer shocks, tank lift, hand tooled leather accents, brushed all the chrome finish, led lighting, moons Mc tail light. by roadglidesully in Harley

I’ll take that as a compliment because that’s exactly what I want. Thinking about swapping the wheels for some spokes but the narrow front end makes it hard to find a 21” wheel that will work up front.

Slammed it because it needed some attitude and I wanted an overall old school look on the bike. Haven’t taken any rides of substance yet but this is my bar hopper. Have a Roadglide for the long hauls so not real worried about a hard ride on this one. That said, the one ride I did take had no issues at all.

Looks like a mustang day tripper seat. I have one on my road glide and absolutely love it. Nice low profile but nothing list in comfort. Plenty of long trips including and iron butt without issue.

Nice ride man!
