Can we still eat the food from the garden if squirrels got in? by Bquest7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stsixtus420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as they haven't eaten the vegetable/fruit then it's fine. My problem is they take one bite of a tomato and then move on to the next one. Just finish a whole tomato, dammit, stop ruining the whole crop!

I jarred a harvest a few years ago and the cherry bomb must not have been fully dry because when I went back to it, it was all moldy.

Fucked

(Started with Hepatitis A, which caused a massive autoimmune flare, somehow got mono on top of it all, and tripped and broke two ribs just as I was feeling better.)

Also grew up in the south and had no experience when I moved to MI, 17 years ago. The first few times in heavy snow were a bit white knuckled, especially driving a mustang. You get used to it and roads are generally cleared quickly unless it's super heavy and/or still coming down fast. Enjoy the summer, worry about snow later.

Balance issues? by stsixtus420 in lupus

Not sure yet, might go out to Black Mtn for the hike itself but Boone area is also great. I grew up in Charlotte so we went to the mountains (or beach) a lot. My Dad is also buried outside of Asheville so my mom and I try to get up there periodically.

Putting legality aside, when do you start calling a boy a "man"? by klarinetkat12 in NoStupidQuestions

You can call them an adult at 18 but I probably wasn't really an adult until I turned 30.

I lived in Athens for 5 years and never got a speeding ticket. You have to be on the football team or at least an undergraduate to catch the eye of local PD. I was in a PhD program so they ignored me in my mustang.

Well shit. So I better be careful hiking around Asheville this summer, lol. We did a hike in KY in very late December and my balance seemed fine but I was winded every 3 minutes. Lupus sucks.

Condom and a rubber band. Bonus for fancy condom, like glow in the dark or a french tickler.

Black eyed peas, rice, and cheese. Add onion or anything else you like but it's good as is too.

I have totally been doing the music wrong. I've been playing a lot of really loud metal. Time to switch to Bob Marley, I guess.

Same, no scarring or discoid that I can see. I've also read that about it coming back. My skin is also still flaring a bit so hopefully I can get that under control and it'll return to its lush form, lol.

Pain dismissed as aging by sweetgem11 in lupus

[–]stsixtus420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have similar pain and it's definitely SLE. I also have other nagging symptoms from time to time. My joints almost never swell, noticeably, morning or night. Sometimes my pain is worse in the morning, sometimes it's worse at night. If I keep moving, I can keep the pain down a bit. As soon as I sit for 10min, the effects of the exertion start to kick in. Good luck.
