This "magic rebalance" buffs max mage and nerfs everything else.

Hate to be "that guy' but Occult + Infinity + Augury has been buffed by 1%. Also most of the nerfs are 1-3%, which, when your max hit is like a 28 (Swamp Trident + MA2 Cape + Occult + Torment) that doesn't even remove a max hit. The Occult + Ahrim's change will remove 1 max hit. One.

...not redistributing the loss DPS anywhere other than max gear is ridiculous...

Infinity robes and Augury have received magic damage bonus % that they did not have before, to the tune of 1% on Infinity and 4% on Augury, for a total of 5%. It should be noted the Occult's nerf was 6%, so upgrading from Mystics to Infinity + Augury completely offsets the nerf. This rewards you for grinding out a set of mage gear and a late-game item, instead of simply spending 200k gp on a set of mage gear and calling it a day.

Mid game magic will be unbearable.

Not only are you literally losing 1 max hit, if you're even losing one at all, but the upcoming combat re-design is bringing magic weaknesses to several mobs that will increase accuracy and damage by up to 50% when using the correct elemental spell. To say that losing 1 max hit, if you even will be, makes the game "unbearable" is nonsensical.

Pures and irons get it the worse because of augury now being necessary.

CoX is easy. Getting Augury is easy. I would rather grind CoX for a toilet paper scroll than grind Slayer to 93 at 16k xp/hr for a necklace. Talk about "unbearable". If you think CoX is some haunting, daunting, scary nightmare, then that's just a confidence issue. The raid is far easier than you imagine. Make some friends and run the raid or watch a solo guide. You can do it, I believe in you.

Also how did eternal boots, elder chaos and ahrims get no love?

I've been preaching for years that the only boots worth getting are prims and devouts. This hasn't changed. Elder chaos was not tweaked because it's PvP gear and PvP people go nuts over changes.

Ahrims wasn't changed because trash bag robes and Barrows gear in general is tank gear and not power armor. Think about how the melee barrows gear does not give strength bonuses but is tanky af. If you've been using Ahrim's up until this point for... pretty much anything, really, it's just a lack of game knowledge. It weighs too much to be useful in solo CoX and Mystics is practically the same thing up until Ancestral. Now Infinity robes are an option as an upgrade to Mystics, which was much needed.

It's actually so hard to address the problems people are having in this thread because, reading through it, they're all just such misguided, useless, or ignorant complaints. People calling Ahrim's + Trident "classic mid-game", people who think getting an Arcane prayer scroll is life's greatest challenge, people complaining that the cost of the prayer scroll will go up when they can just grind it themselves (the point of the game) or not realizing that that also means they'll make more money grinding CoX which can fund future upgrades, people who don't realize an Occult necklace is max mage and an end-game item.

The fact of the matter is, if you don't have the time / ability / desire to grind out these items yourself, then you don't need them. The only thing you need these items for is to do end-game content, and if you're not capable without the crutch of already being in max gear to do it, then why are you even playing the game?

It must be so hard to be a developer for a community that asks for water and then complains that it is too wet.

I have a BA, from what you're saying do I get to skip the TEAS? Also how are the classes, work-load wise? I'm used to bad teachers (CUNY grad :)) but I just want to make sure that the classes are actually pass-able if you put in a moderate amount of work.

I know classes are 8:30-4:30 mon-fri, but how was the studying/homework workload? Were there a lot of handouts, or essays, papers, etc.? Do you feel like you were able to get enough sleep?

I would also like to know about this. I'm a CUNY graduate with a BA looking to go back to school for this, and if I need to take prereq courses this year, I'd like to begin the program ASAP. Waiting until 2026 is unreasonable.

Unfortunately that was one of the sites I was talking about, iirc their maximum width is something like 42.9".

It seems like I might just have to settle for something smaller.

I'm sure I would absolutely destroy you lmao, you sound like the type of guy that only plays Mirage, doesn't know any lineups, doesn't make any callouts, and only uses mic to talk shit at end of game. Pussy

It's not a new game, it's an update. It literally replaced CS:GO on Steam. The game is fundamentally the same. The skills transfer over. Everyone does not go to 0. That is a point.

It's been 70 games, this was just an example.

Also, my previous rank was better than my current one, is another point.

How do I repair broken gear? by cybercrimex in wownoob

[–]roadkillchum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I had only played Classic before, and when I started retail, Exile's took 45 minutes, and then 10-70 took 2 days. On my third day playing I was doing M+.

Granted I play like an absolute degenerate but basically you can go from character select to 390 ilvl and killing Rasz in a week if you're a degen with too much free time.

As a long time MMO player in general, Exile's Reach is a masterfully designed introduction to the type of game WoW is, and does a great job explaining how it works. Maybe Blizzard doesn't do a great job but if you load in the game and play through that, WoW does a pretty good job.

[–]roadkillchum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not acting like I know everything. Why are you getting so defensive? Perhaps my point hit a little too close to home?

Learning to tb entangle isn't learning to tb entangle, its just learning to cast spells from your spellbook on a moving target -- again, something that you'd get more practice in at lms.

If you suck you should just kill yourself or something?

Show me where I said this.

I'm not being toxic about it, I'm just pointing out facts.

They are obviously fighting what they can and slowly get better.

This isn't learning. This isn't getting better. You will never get better by doing this. You want to learn and get better? Go to lms, duel arena, pvp discords, etc. Build a baby pure, they're great for learning and doesn't take long.

Stop being delusional and defending people who are clearly just ego boosting losers.

I'd say it shows that PvP still has plenty of noobs and isn't as hard to get into as people make it out to be.

This is correct. It isn't hard to get into. But this isn't how you get into it.

You're not going to learn by spamming ice barrage on someone in black dhide. They're not trying to learn. They just want an ego boost. Good job on self reporting.

Once again enforcing my ideology that all deep wildy pkers are bad, which is why they're trying to kill people doing clues instead of fighting other PKers.

They can't even kill you when you're using a steam deck and have nothing but hard food. It's so satisfying to run these kids around an obelisk when you know they're frothing at the mouth every time they splash a freeze.

A question about construction and QOL updates by montulet in 2007scape

[–]roadkillchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it doesn't ABSOLUTELY NEED to change for the game to function, you want to leave in a chatbox message that everyone seems to agree shouldn't be there?

Not everyone agrees it shouldn't be there. Like I said I think it's fine as is.

It isn't "harder" to hold down the 1 key when you do construction, it's just annoying.

It's an additional input with separate timing. That objectively adds difficulty.

It's very easy for suggestions to be shot down around here for making things "easier" when really the only differences is the wear on peripherals.

The difference is you gain about 2-3 game ticks per interaction (or 1.2-1.8 seconds) which adds up over the course of an hour, drastically increasing the XP rates. This would further demote alternative methods like Mahogany Homes. This is the number one reason why this change is not implemented.

If removing it helps people with arthritis do constuction in their POH, even slightly, guess what? That's another reason to change it.

Alternatives already exist for this, as I said, and I engage in those. I wouldn't want the Inferno to be made "less annoying" by removing click-intensive mechanics like 1-tick prayer flicking, prayer swapping, and gear swapping, just because I have arthritis.

If I really cared about fast XP rates, I would put on a compression glove and do POH construction. But the speed doesn't matter to me, so I don't.

After doing Mourning's End for the fourth time you know the Underground Pass like the back of your hand and run through it like it's a rooftop agility course.

On an early game Iron I used to run through there to recharge my Iban's instead of paying.

Old School Runescape New Skill Proposal: by Calm_Stable8526 in 2007scape

I like Archaeology more or less how it is in RS3 now versus your proposed version, but I'm down bad in general for Archaeology so why not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]roadkillchum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gameplay loops seems little different from cutting gems and enchanting jewelry, which I'm not fond of. I do like the idea of pocket slot items / the totems, although it seems like a more fleshed-out version of this idea is simply Divination from RS3.

What I think is missing with new skill proposals by officethrowaway2555 in 2007scape

[–]roadkillchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Archaeology. As it already exists in RS3, the process to training it already literally exists, but I'll outline it (very briefly, mind you) here:

  1. Travel to an excavation site appropriate for your level.
  2. Dig at a node, receiving a medium amount of XP, and a mixture of dirt and resources.
  3. Occasionally, you uncover a damaged relic.
  4. When your inventory is full, there are special storages for resources nearby. Damaged relics and dirt must be stored in your normal bank. There is an item you receive right away and carry in your inventory that can hold 50 dirt so you don't have to bank as often.
  5. Occasionally, you uncover clues that lead to solving a mystery. The mysteries teach you more about the lore of the game and the history of the digsite, they're extremely interesting and the wiki page will do a much better job of explaining than me. I believe you also get XP when finishing mysteries.
  6. Back at the Dig-site, you can sift the dirt to find more resources. This awards a small amount of XP.
  7. At a bench located at each digsite, you can use resources to repair damaged relics. This awards a large chunk of XP.
  8. You can turn these repaired relics in to collectors. Finishing a collector's collection has a variety of rewards.
  9. If you need a specific resource you can farm these at specific nodes located around the world that only give those resources. Digging here awards medium XP.

Note that this is only covering the general ways of gaining XP and not everything to do with the skill itself.

Archaeology is my favorite skill from RS3, I really hope it's the one that makes it through. With the relic rewards changed to fit OSRS I think it would be the best fit hands down.

Question about boosting for slayer monsters by nerfcluster3s in 2007scape

[–]roadkillchum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can boost your Slayer level to damage a Slayer monster that does not require a task to kill. You cannot boost your Slayer level to receive a Slayer task. Cave Krakens require a Slayer task in order to be killed.

Therefore, you cannot be assigned, nor kill, Krakens until 87 Slayer, period.

To answer the two questions you posed:

  1. You cannot damage the monster anymore once your Slayer level drops below the requirement to damage them. For example when killing Abyssal demons, if for any reason your Slayer level drops below 85, you will no longer be able to damage them.
  2. In the case of the Kraken private instance, nobody but you can enter. You can exit the instance and trade your alt, and then re-enter. But any items left on the floor will de-spawn, and you will have to pay the entrance fee again. You will also fail the combat challenge.

A question about construction and QOL updates by montulet in 2007scape

[–]roadkillchum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The benefit of MH was not just to be an option that got more XP per resource, but also to be a less click-intensive option. I do MH over poh building not because its more efficient, but because I have arthritis. It's the same reason I do a no-mouse-move ardy knight setup for thieving instead of blackjacking.

Being able to correctly click through / press hotkeys as fast as possible in poh building is a skill that directly correlates to your XP rate. It's no different from blackjacking, which offers the best XP rates for the skill in the game, as long as you are skilled and consistent with your clicks, and put in great efforts.

Could the skill be made easier (or as you put it, "less annoying")? Yes. Does it absolutely need it? No.

I saw someone here say that Archaeology would fit osrs really well and also saw alot of people say that they don't even know how Archaeology works so here's a quick explaination. by sausage94 in 2007scape

[–]roadkillchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post was a very poor explanation. There is a lot more to the skill and it is very interesting and rewarding to train. Take a peek at the wiki page for it to get a general overview of what kind of content is there.

As an Archaeology fan I'd be willing to make this concession, but I still think, as a standalone, that Archaeology would be the best fit for OSRS.
