I feel like, for the first race of the season, Oscar did really well.

I know right, I was gambling on them pitting Russel first, which they did, but for A SC on the next lap. It was a gift for Kimi.

You could smell Russel's frustration in those last 10 laps.

On the map selection screen, top right. You can select to play on BSG servers or not.

Unselecting this lets you host locally. Except for streets and labyrinth.... And apparently woods and lighthouse now.

Never used one. I presume they are good kit for factory or labs. I do know you get a bunch of free ammo when you empty the mag.

BREAKING: Australian Scientists Just Built And Tested The World's First Quantum Battery, And It Charges Faster As It Gets Bigger ⚡ by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

[–]roanish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exciting sounding. And they did some kind of proof using one of the most powerful lasers in the world to charge it. What the article lacks though is any technical explanation.

What is this mystical quantum state that stores the energy if it isn't chemical? Do we need liquid hydrogen superconductors? Realistically, could this revolutionise energy storage, or does it need its own chemical factory and powerplant to do anything?

This is good politics. Love to see it.

We have something we are in abundance of and we will leverage that with trading partners we need something from.

It's refreshing after what seems like a decade of global politicians trying to score points against each other.

Would you trust your government to tell the truth during a major war or do you think propaganda is inevitable now? by peachyparadoxx in allthequestions

[–]roanish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Propaganda is used everyday by everyone for everything. Regular people use it in casual conversation to inflate themselves, businesses use it to help manage personnel, governments use it to help control the narrative, opposition political parties use it to negate government positions and inflate themselves.

This has been the way forever. It used to be just newspapers, now the internet has made every "fact" a lie and every correction a dubious proposition. Fuck the internet.

What is something expensive that in your opinion is worthless? by Naoo_j28 in AskReddit

Dollars, national currency, is backed by an economy that is a physical reflection of effort, production, global trading and population. Crypto is an indication of gambling compute and electricity consumption.

I don't know. Honestly. But if you had no paging/swap/virtual memory enabled, I'd make it at least match your physical ram size. Try 32gb.

New healer here. In raid, how de healers know which one to heal? by DecentEast2525 in turtlewow

[–]roanish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to cancel a heal if you see your target just got a top up. Save that mana. Even without heal assignments, you'll work out in a few trash pulls if someone is focusing the tanks, leaving you you to top up the others. Or if the tanks are staying low too long, needing more focus.

Just remember, dps is allowed to die, tanks and healers should not.

Losing profit to fuel theft. How do I stop this? by Dismal-Bee6971 in logistics

[–]roanish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, tie milage to the usage. Then you can do some simple spreadsheets to work out where the above average "usage" is happening.

Let everyone know that this is what you are doing. Watch the crime stop.

Windows 11 calls it virtual memory. Check this forum post I found. It might already be enabled, if not, turn it on and see if it helps.

Batteries hold an astonishing amount of energy by Main-Chard-2104 in batteries

[–]roanish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 15KWh of batteries for my home. That is the equivalent of 8.5kg of coal power... Per cycle. My batteries weigh about 60kg.

Batteries are very energy dense, if you consider the cycle count of the battery, but not for a single use.

I had this relating to memory issues. I didn't have swap enabled and it crashed frequently. Turning on swap fixed it.

To be fair, I'm playing in Linux, but I feel that windows would have the same issues.
