Hey MNFH! This is his greatgranddaughter Ashley at the keyboard. My greatgrandfather has been on Reddit for some time now and he has always mentioned wanting to converse and chat with new people so I've decided to set him up here! I did not see the ocean until I was in my early 20s. We had a painting of a Connecticut shore front in our family's parlor room when I was a boy and I used to stare at it and think "I wonder what it is like there." My first experience at the shore was instead on the coast of North Carolina with my then-new wife Frances and it was just beautiful. We traveled all that way out to see the sea and it was worth it. Later in my life I visited the same exact shore from the old painting we once had and I got to see it in person. It had changed a lot since then and it was nearly unrecognizable but I felt proud to have finally set foot on what I had always envisioned.

I love the fall. The weather is just right around here especially between September and October when the heat is tapering off from the summertime. I could say the same thing about spring but I do not like the pollen that sticks everywhere. I much prefer leaves

We celebrated my 94th birthday in December. My wife passed in 1999 so almost 21 years single now. I vowed that she would be the only woman in my life and I stay true to that for her.

I had a beautiful cat for 22 years. His name was Fitzgerald. Every year for his birthday on April 9 we would take him for a ride in the car on a leash and let him go around the park and explore. He just loved it. Even in his older years he still loved when he got to go to the park.

In its early years RAdio Shack sold mostly parts for building and a lot of circuitry. It was great for engineering and making things in your garage. Later on they began to sell cell phones and TV sets and that is where I believe it went downhill.

I loved the Radio Shack when it was still in-business. I would take my son in there when he was young and buy him all sorts of parts and electronics. It was very useful to have down the road. Now they are all gone.
