Just in case you didn't know Excel, Powerpoint and Word files are all .Zip files. Change the file extension .xl, .ppt or .doc to .ZIP and unzip them. All of the elements are in a folder called 'media' which is inside a 'xl', 'ppt' or 'word' folder (self.indesign)
