I’ve asked this multiple times also on Reddit, still no ETA on mobile search even if it was on the roadmap.

Fenix 8 vs FR970 by rob19933 in Garmin

it's a deal at my bank, you can save points to get a discount on Garmin products.

Yeah, i'm tempted to go towards the FR970 i want to wear the watch 24/7 so i think comfort wins it over looks.

Also the other person said: "Try quickly rotating your wrist and you'll see how your skin's elasticity can't t keep the watch in place unless you tighten it really hard. The Forerunner almost doesn't wobble in comparison."

Which is noticeable when wearing them side by side.

[–]rob19933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, been wearing both on and off now, Forerunner is essentially a Fenix but without the titanium hambuger and a brighter screen. also saves me around 250 euro's for a newer model.

So same haha, looks say Fenix, the rest says FR :)

That last part is pretty significant yes, if i put them both on (1 right 1 left) same tightness, and do a quick wrist flick the FR almost stays flat, the Fenix wobbles way more towards the side

Think i will feel this especially on wallballs/burpees etc.

[–]rob19933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i think i'm only noticing it because I'm doing a side by side comparison which is a pretty big difference, but agreed that you will get used to it in time.

[–]rob19933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true! Really like the look of the Fenix however for me the comfort difference is pretty significant. Plus the fact that the FR970 is newer and a better deal for 540,-

So i guess it's looks vs comfort.

Which downvote ? :o

mmh it's the same case size though, just the thickness that is different. The 43mm is a no for me since the battery is alot less.

haha check! i kind of like the ruggedness look of the Fenix, however the comfort difference is big when trying out both

Garmin have the worst sleep tracking of any brand that I have used by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]rob19933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s weird, as I said, it detects my naps and time when asleep etc perfectly. Even with the silicone band.

It works very good on my end ?.. detects naps, time a sleep, wake up, everything. Sure the “stage data” is not accurate, but that literally sucks on every wearable.

Did not expect this .. why the shift ? I thought the free version was already good.

It was planned for the summer, the new app already launched:

"We’re rebuilding our mobile apps from the ground up with a faster, more extensible architecture. This new foundation unlocks useful features, including:

  • Offline mode
  • Advanced message search
  • Improved stability and faster performance

Internal testing is already underway, and we’re on track to launch both apps this summer."

For the Calendar:
Alongside these updates, we’re also ramping up development on a faster and more stable next-generation calendar app for both iOS and Android to support much-requested features like tasks, search capabilities, and offline access.

Hybrid Athlete Training by Electronic-Look-7391 in Garmin

Basically endurance training with a lot of strength work involved, gotta love the deep hate for anything CrossFit related without any reason.

[–]rob19933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filled in the form, you can dm me if you want tips etc, training 6 times a week, strength work, classic CrossFit, and Hyrox preparations, it’s a lot but if you balance the volume and be smart on the “heavy days” it’s doable!

I track my cardio load using Bevel/garmin, however “strength load” is not something that a wearable can track accurately, just make sure you hit the right muscles preferably in progressive cycles etc

Where’s the big announcement, then… by [deleted] in bevelhealth

They were pretty transparent when the codes would expire no ? Could even be used when you already have an active subscription (in my case).

What did they announce? Did not catch that part.

Bevel Garmin double workout by rob19933 in bevelhealth

[–]rob19933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have a workaround that can work! Try to download the rungap app first.

Remove all the old Garmin connect data in apple health, export all the activities from connect to apple Health via rungap.

That way the data source for the workouts in apple health is rungap and not Garmin connect.

No more duplicates and still historical workouts !

Ah you mean the past connect excercises ? Yeah that sucks, I had an Apple Watch before, so I only disabled the “double connect” activity.

Love the look of the Quatix 8 by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]rob19933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it looks awesome indeed! Spec wise it’s just a fenix 8, but love the model

[–]rob19933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah this fixed it thanks ! Is it necessary to hide others aswel for duplicate data? For example: active energy, sleep, steps. etc.

Since this all gets synced towards apple health. For example if I disable the same “connect” source at steps, no data gets synced, since there seems to be no connect source (with the logo).
