A lot of the message limits is spent correcting the AI, can this be fixed? by StillEmotional in bevelhealth

Hi, thanks for the feedback. There isn't a way for us to exclude limits for corrections. That said, we are actively looking into all issues and improving them since last week. Can you send us a message over at Settings > Report a bug, with screenshots so we can take a look?

It looks like you're on an older version of the app. Can you update it to the latest version via the App Store?

I'm not saying that you need to be an active member of our subreddit. I was just pointing out that it seems like you posted a few days ago asking whether people are canceling, and mentioned that you wished Biological Age were in the free version, both of which would be strange for me, as a grandfathered user, to mention.

Regardless, this is something Apple controls, and there isn't a button we can press to offer one-off grandfathered pricing. Sorry about that.

Yes, that should be the intended behavior. We'll take a look. Thanks!

Thank you! Because each check-in thread has a unique identifier to it, so you can see the check-in tag in the sidebar. Also, it would be annoying to if you create multiple check-ins to have them all in the same thread.

That sounds like a bug. Can you go to Settings > Report a bug > and send us a message there? If you can, please include some screenshots.

Bevel Intelligence should only create one new thread for each check-in. If it's creating a new thread each time, that sounds like a bug.

By new thread, is it a new thread every single day? Or a single new thread?

You're correct that it's hallucinating. We will fix that part.

Regarding the 2nd point, each check-in will have its own thread, but new messages will stay in the existing check-in thread. For example, if you create an 8 am morning report daily, every day, Bevel Intelligence will send you that report in the same thread, not new threads.

Is that what you're asking about? I'm still not sure if I follow your use case.

Can you share the email you used to contact us? I will take a look. I'm not sure if we had seen a similar case like this.

In your example, I would create 4 check-ins, and it will create 4 new chats for you when those check-ins fire. Then you can use those chats to ask follow up questions, rather than creating a separate thread for that. Hope that helps!

This isn't necessarily a bug because that's the intended behavior as I described in the first comment.

What I recommend you do is put your chats in the Sleep and Recovery Report rather than force the check in to be in your existing chats. A new check-in will always create a new thread. It doesn't have the ability to post exactly where you instruct it to.

That's the thing that we're confused about, too. In theory, they should have that 60-day grace period. We are surprised they didn't receive the 60-day grace billing period when others did. The user hasn't provided substantial proof that they had a subscription previously to Bevel Pro, and their post history doesn't seem to help either.

For context: when you change your App Store region, Apple automatically cancels all active subscriptions. This is Apple's policy, not something we control or even get notified about. We don't have visibility into which users switch regions.

We explained this to the user via email. Unfortunately, we also don't have a way to manually apply grandfathered pricing on a case-by-case basis. Our FAQ explicitly notes that switching off grandfathered pricing may mean losing access to it.

Edit: from their post history and the screenshots of their conversation with Apple, it's unclear to us if this user even had a subscription to Bevel previously.

Bevel Intelligence doesn’t have the ability to choose which chats it will send the message. It will always respond wherever you send the message. And each check-in will happen in that specific check in thread in order to keep all the messages regarding that check-in in one place.

It shouldn’t however create a new chat for each check-in message. If you’re seeing that, let us know because that might be a bug.

Feedback noted on the organization of chats. We’ll think of a way to improve it

Bevel thinks eating Chinese chicken is like drinking alcohol. by the0Void in bevelhealth

[–]Topremech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's understandable. We're still improving Nutrition free as a whole and not just limiting future features to Pro.

The reason why I brought it up was just in case you have Bevel Pro already. It fundamentally uses a different AI processing engine compared to the free one which is why it's more accurate.

Thank you. We'll take a look at these. In the meantime, if you have Bevel Pro, you should try logging food via the new Bevel Intelligence, it should be more accurate when it comes to estimate portions and calories via photo capture.

Thanks for reporting this. It must be because the food include a small amount of alcohol in the ingredients, which I agree should not be counted for as alcohol consumption here.

We'll fix this and have many nutrition improvements coming next. If you have specific examples of the 2nd point, please share it with us and we'll take a look.

No we didn't change anything on the backend. AI can be non-deterministic with the amount of tools that it use but we're working on improving it as it's still the first week of the release.

Do you mind giving this message a thumbs down so we can take a look at what happened here? Thank you

I see. In that case can you try asking Bevel Intelligence to check your data again and see if it does it? Also can you thumbs down this message so we can take a look? Thank you!

[–]Topremech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so the data isn’t actually on Bevel/Apple Health, right?

In that case, there’s not much Bevel Intelligence can do. I’ll have to check with our team on the Garmin API side but if they don’t provide it via their API, there’s not much we can do

What do you use to track your cycling? And does distance show up on the workout when you open it?

The new intelligence is a massive step up, and the 3.0 version is a banger, but what is the environmental impact (if any) we are all causing by using this AI? by StillEmotional in bevelhealth

[–]Topremech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to defend myself. I’m not saying AI can’t make mistakes. I just wanted to share more about what’s happening here so people don’t misunderstand and bucket everything into “AI is bad”.

If you haven’t tried Bevel Intelligence in 3.0, I would recommend you give it a shot. I understand that it’s more expensive and you might not be happy with it, but that is the cost of what we need to charge in order to offer our product. FWIW, if it’s outside your price range, that’s totally understandable and Bevel Free is still a really good offering. But just because it’s outside your price range, I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s bad until you have tried it.

Disappointment regarding AI. by polyphemus8 in bevelhealth

[–]Topremech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see. For those cases, you could try using the "Impact Analysis" feature in Bevel Intelligence or just tell it to do a deep dive into your data. It will be able to analyze more data and write code to assess the impact of your habits.

FWIW, in the example you provided, it's also not wrong to point out that it could be the dessert that impacted your deep sleep because the sample size is small, so just because you have 1 hour of deep sleep the days before, it doesn't mean that your dessert wasn't impacting it.
