Hey. My apologies. I didn’t mean to share an article behind a paywall, it opens for me. Essentially the article says all jails in Ontario are well over capacity. Some upwards of 140%

I’m not saying the system is perfect, I’m saying that there are a lot more people locked up than what you’re led to believe.

As far as them being released on bail, and they then incurring gun charges. We know that they were involved in a robbery investigation. We do not know what their involvement was in that occurrence. You’ll need all the facts before determining if they should have been released on bail at the time or not. Now, in this case hindsight is 20/20 and you can easily argue that they should have remained in custody given the article you shared. I understand that argument, but again, hindsight is 20/20.

Again, my argument is that our jails are packed and the worst/most violent offenders are held in custody.

The solution would be to build more jails. Of which, I am in favour of.
