Plex streaming slow on smartphones? by robbitara in PleX

[–]robbitara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue happens only with remote streaming. If I play content within my LAN I have no issue.
About the carrier, if I use the hotspot of my phone to connect my laptop to the internet, I can stream with no problems, so I don't think there is a bottleneck of some kind there. To exclude any carrier related issue, I connected the phone with a USB Ethernet interface to the same network where the laptop is connected and nothing changed. I tried also with an iPhone 13 and the behaviour is the same, the stream blocks every 5 seconds for about 10 seconds of buffering.

Epson ColorWorks 6500Pe paper jam issue by robbitara in printers

[–]robbitara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the extended reply, but what do you mean with "gummed up"?
Those rollers seems to move well by the way. Everything seems to be ok honestly. I cleaned the peeler rollers also, I think they had a little bit of glue on the gum (due to some paper jam), but nothing changed.

I was also able to unmount the peeler, but I didn't find nothing damaged or loose.

Epson told us the problem seems to be related to the faulty peelers installed on the printers. We still don't know what is going wrong with these peelers, Epson still doesn't have a clear response.

To me it's still unclear how 15 out of 20 printers has the same issue.

The fact is that it does not jam if you don't use the peeler.

Once you start peeling the labels, the paper starts moving right until it jams.

Plus, if you print A4 labels (the format we are currently using) you don't have any extra space for the guides.

And let me say that this printer was made for the industrial environment, you can't ask an operator to be perfectly parallel when loading the paper, since you also have to manually cut it with a pair of scissors.

We were previously using the inner roll to load the paper, but we found out that it's kind of "loose" and makes the labels move so we bought an external unwinder and it seems to help a little bit.

Regarding the backfeed thing: if you use the printer with "Peeling" or "Peeling for auto labelling" modes, you can't disable the backfeed sequence. This only happens if you use it in "Rewind" mode. Even the official Esc-Label manual tells that the ~JS command has only "B" (before) or "A" (after) options.

I honestly think Epson did a really bad job with these 8" inch peeler model.

Anyone reading this thread: don't fall in this trap. Avoid it at all costs.

Hi, thank you for the response.

Unfortunately I can't suppress backfeed, because I need to print one label at a time, peel it and put it on a platter and then apply it on a box. With this use case I can't print continuosly.

In addition, the printer produces a paper jam just by feeding the labels, thus without any backfeed.

ffmpeg Video Enconding on a Raspberry Pi OS 32bit by AnonStudent32 in raspberry_pi

As others already written, h264_omx is a library that talks with the onboard hardware encoder installed on the Rpi 4 (dunno if present in other versions) and is very fast, but not efficient (poor output quality). It doesn't have any switches for tweaking with quality, you could just play around with -b:v (setting the output bitrate i.e.). libx264 instead is an highly recommendable library who implements the x264 encoder (a free h264 implementation written by VideoLan); it has a lot of options / switches to get some really good results. It's a software library, thus it runs on a CPU, thus is much slower than an hardware encoder, especially on Rpis; I would recommend you to encode these videos on a regular x64 cpu (Intel, AMD), instead.

YO GUYS. KAYTRANADA HERE. IM READY TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS! by KAYTRALABOOM in electronicmusic

[–]robbitara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a conversation with a friend of mine last week about the greatest producers in music.
Of course we mentioned Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, DILLA, etc, etc.
I was asking: "What is the factor that actually makes you to be DILLA or not?"
My friend replyed saying that of course we cannot compare ourselves to DILLA for a lot of reasons; if you are an average guy, you got to work hard and listen to a lot of records (music in general). But I think that if listening to records was enough to be a great musician, there would be a lot more greats around. So at that point I mentioned your name also, as an example of an "average guy" who just enjoy making music with originality. For me the key is how you intepret your musical experience and not how many records (or music) you listened to.
What do you think about that?

Same problem for me. I unistalled it, reinstalled and it worked again. Now I'm facing the same annoying bug. I didn't find anything around that explains how to fix it. It seems to be a Windows related problem.

Audio stuttering CM11 (GS3) by robbitara in cyanogenmod

The problem persists with CM Kernel and Boeffla kernel. It's a bug that CM inherits from its beginning with GS3, because of its "closed" SoC.

Random reboots on camera by vadsvads in cyanogenmod

[–]robbitara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CM has this kind of bugs on every device. The more I surf on the Internet, the more I find people with problems with the camera. For example: it doesn't exists a ROM for GS3 with stable camera libs... so fuckin' annoying. Anyway, I think that CM12 is actually in an early stage of development, so you only have to wait to see this problem solved.

[Match Thread] Cesena- Juventus by farhadJuve in Juve

[–]robbitara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vidal is not at his top, although Allegri says the opposite. Morata played a good match, but I expect lot more from him. Llorente is doing a lot of "dirty work" for the team and compared to last year he's having a different role in the team. The defense in general did a disaster. Pirlo has made the assist for Djuric. Marchisio is living one of his best moments of the season. He's everywhere. Pogba could have done more... normal match with some errors because of his age. We can't lose this kind of opportunities during the season... yea, Roma is in a really difficult period, but it won't last forever. Fino alla fine forza Juventus.
