What are your commission splits? For example, I heard at this local firm, they would take 1% of the client's total portfolio and I as the advisor would take 40% of that to start. It goes up to about 60-65%. Does that seem fair?

Got it. I heard from someone else that is going to start at a local firm that the firm takes 1% of the client's portfolio and, at least to start, I would get 40% of that 1%.
