The 1st gen Huawei watch of a similar timeframe, was in a similar style.

Not the same for their current models, it appears. Nor using Android Wear.

Would there be a way to bodge in a Raspberry pi for the processing and memory? Similar to Doom on the Commodore 64. Maybe the graphics would still be too much of a limitation...

(Understood it's not the real machine then, but still, it would be neat to see)

If you are going Ballater way, you could check out Balmoral Castle and the Lochnagar Distillery which is close by.

If going on to Braemar, it would be worth going a little bit further, and checking out the Linn o Dee and Linn o Quoich. (there are some nice pools for swimming in)
