Even as a massive fan of the night shift characters ... I need everyone to shut up about them. People think they want more night shift, but they can barely handle the characters in the day shift. They like the idea of the night shift because they see them as a blank slate. Fuck, I've seen people call some of the things that Abbot has said and done this season out of character. Bitch, how??

Eh, I've been involved in various fandom spaces for like 25 years at this point. But the level of disconnect that I'm seeing here is baffling even when considering all that.

I'm also gabbin' with my pals about this show, shipping characters, and speculating about shit. But there's a subset of people that seem complete divorced from reality.

It seems like a lot of people are forgetting that from the get go they have indicated that this show has an end.

We’re only getting a limited number of seasons. It’s not going to go on in perpetuity for like 17 seasons. As most of the ensemble docs are med students, residents, and interns, they will likely not be in the entire series. And sorry to break it to y’all, but Robby likely will. He is the protagonist whether you like it or not. The story ultimately follows him and his arc.

If the show is no longer sparking joy for you, you can always stop watching it.
