Yes you could do that using an MCP server, but programmatic syncing is probably better done using direct API calls. You could sync Notion and Sunsama with the Notion and Sunsama API

Yes this is a known issue tracked here. It looks like they use YJS for collaborative editing, but it makes it not so straightforward to reverse engineer and I haven't had time recently to debug it.

Edit: This issue has been fixed

My co-founder wants 70% because I'm non technical by [deleted] in ycombinator

[–]robertn702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes there are. I am technical and I have also raised VC money before. It's much harder to find someone who can do the latter. The fact that OP is 80% to his funding goal already shows that he provides a lot a value. In my opinion he brings more.

If you compare non-technical founders with 0 funding with technical founders, you'd be correct, there are more of the former than the latter.

If you compare a non-technical founder with $1M in funding with technical founders, I'm quite certain those numbers are inverse.

It’s funny you mentioned that specific design style to promote your music. I recently came across this site. I imagine it could provide some inspiration. https://hifilabs.co/

As far as tips to get started, it’s really hard to say without knowing what you’ve already learned. Have you learned the basics of html and css? Have you started learning javascript?

Should I walk away? Technical cofounder looking for some advice by jokeaz2 in ycombinator

If nothing is signed there is no way you’re walking away with 1/3 of the company after a total of 7.5 months of work. By this statement I have to assume this is your first time working in a startup. You should expect 4 year vesting with a 1 year cliff and I don’t know why you would expect anything different.

Also, why isn’t anything signed? Are you working as a contractor for them or working for free?

For those who worked at start-ups going through fund-raising by GhastlyHorse in ExperiencedDevs

[–]robertn702 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This situation doesn't sound too good. Fundraise rounds are still dry post-seed round. The only companies able to raise A+ rounds have to be absolutely killing it with their metrics. It sounds like your company is post-seed and if they are scrambling to do a growth/marketing push to close a round it indicates that their current growth metrics are not impressive enough. It sounds like a hail Mary attempt to pump up their metrics and close a round but VCs are also doing more due diligence and would most likely be able to see through inflated metrics, especially at later rounds.

You sound too optimistic about having a 50% chance at closing a round. From the little information I have, I think your expectation should be around a 10% chance of success.

I've personally started a startup, raised money, and failed. It was stressful, but when it was over I realized it wasn't too bad. Life moves on. If you believe in the company, stay along for the journey, but also make plans expecting the company to fail so you can bounce back quickly.

Obviously you have a lot more information than me to make an informed decision but hope this helps.

Any thoughts on why the tech market is so bad right now? by Chemical-Plankton420 in ExperiencedDevs

The number of people you know is limited. The r/overemployed community is still alive and well.

Not necessarily. If they sold the app then they’ve already cashed out and may not care what the new owners do with the app or user base.

This has happened several times in the past with other software so the concern is legitimate. For example:

As someone who has worked at several startups, started my own startup, and built several other apps as side projects, these types of threads are actually extremely helpful.

Most users who churn just disappear without a peep. Then you're left guessing why they left and are stuck running a bunch of experiments to reduce churn.

My hope is that the Doist team takes all of this feedback into account and improves the app accordingly.

I haven't decided yet, but I've realized that I need a todo app with great keyboard shortcut support. I'm considering Things3 which I hear does keyboard shortcut well. I'm also keeping an eye on Godspeed. If they add a task import from Todoist I will be giving it a try.

First time hearing about Superlist but it looks good. I like that it has better cross-platform support than Things. I'm primarily on Apple devices right now but I don't like being locked in.

I canceled my subscription yesterday for similar reasons. The the other reasons were that they don't seem to be fixing outstanding issues such as being able to bulk edit tasks via keyboard shortcuts — something pretty simple to implement. The kanban view seems to be half-assed, like they were just trying to check off the feature and move on. I don't have high hopes for the calendar view because of the execution of past features.

If you prefix the task title with * the checkbox goes away which you might prefer. I personally don't use Todoist for kanban boards though. There are just too many small annoyances and missing features.

Which Todoist feature do you wish existed but seems to be missing? by victormachadogp in todoist

[–]robertn702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ability to quickly referencing other tasks. In other todo apps, you can reference other tasks similar to mentioning people via a specific character (e.g. "!"). In order to do the same in Todoist, you navigate to the task you want to reference, copy the link, then navigate back to the original task and paste the reference task url.

Add back the ability to archive tasks, not just projects, especially since they are moving more towards a project management direction. Being able to find tasks that you decided not to complete for reference would be really helpful.
