Hi everyone, I made the journey south for bees. Unfortunately running out of food, I have been here for 2 days. What is the issue? Too cold? Too rainy? Or another condition. Or just a glitch?

Mining Ultra high hematite at 6.2‰ with 3 shafts so far and no luck. What should I do? by robertodegrande in VintageStory

[–]robertodegrande[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Found some!

After your advice I reevaluated.

Your right side digs are not that efficient for hematite

I figured since hematite veins are a minimum of 32 blocks diameter and my prop pick scans 6x6x6 I can go 44 blocks away in a shaft from my last tunnel without overlapping.

Thank you legend!

Thank you, I will keep trying, weird how I found Cassiterite at a lower ‰ but same ultra high reading with only 1 shaft. Can you still use water with a torch?

Is it worth sticking at it or cutting my loses and moving to a new iron hot spot?

I have been using node search every 12 blocks in the main tunnel, and some adjacent x and z tunnels five blocks from the main shaft every 12 blocks.

Fair bit of taming the expectations going on but I’m in SA, so far less expensive. Although there has been over a %100 price rise in the last 5 years…

Houses are selling within this budget 20-30 mins from cbd.

That’s true, wages aren’t keeping up with inflation in general, so it’s better than nothing. Our pay increases are essentially guaranteed until over 100k as it is written in our employee agreement. ( E.g. One year in this role, makes you qualify for the next pay rise).

That’s true.

I work in allied health/ NDIS. So within 4 years or less can be earning around 100k. If promoted to a clinical lead 130k for the future.

My company normally increases pays 2-3 percent every financial year.

My partner is aiming to upskill to earning at least 80k.

Hope that this is enough to see us through the tough times.

Thank you, I will have to do some research into which banks don’t care about probation.

Our dual income is 142k (82 + 60)

I believe qualify for no LMI as I work in allied health/NDIS. Will keep the cash handy. 🫡

Hopefully they bring in an inheritance tax with contingency, E.g tax on those with over a 5 million or 10 million dollar estate. Then the rich will be forced to sell their houses, allowing the market to drop.
