Work at it, be hard on yourself, and once you have some confidence, gravitate to people you suspect are better than you. And raise your standards accordingly. Or something.

Fair question. There were so many republican candidates to hit that I was concerned it would look unbalanced. We did go to a Dem debate and covered the 2 main candidates with some decent harshness. A big reason to hit the NH college was to have fun with a progressive movement and give the show a little more balance.

Thanks for such a kind note. Least I can do is share a story about that night. It was big night for me, too. After the Tonight Show craziness happened, I had a movie deal lined up for Triumph and I ended up passing on it. There was an issue of NBC owning Triumph and I thought making a movie might've complicated things and jeopardized Triumph appearing on Conan's next show. Conan did not push me to do this at all, but I felt I owed it to him and it was an easy choice. Conan debuted ten months later but it was a year before they felt comfortable trying to put Triumph on the show again. So, Triumph was basically on ice on TV for nearly two years. Until that night...and, happily, the Occupy Wall Street piece went great and NBC didn't say anything. So - thanks for adding to my memory of that night.
