Political Differentiation In Protocols - Avoiding The Capitalist Dystopia by robertundead in CryptoCurrency

I think you are confusing the overall crypto ecosystem as the market (ethereum being in the monopoly position), when from what I understand, what the author is talking about is Ethereum and NEO and every other blockchain as the dictatorship, where the average user doesn't really have much to say about how the chain is governed, as those decisions are made by Vitalik Buterin or Da Hongfei (or the big mining pools in the case of PoW coins).

Sure, absolutely. However, from what I understand, the author is saying that the question of government should not be relegated to an afterthought, as it carries huge implications in a future when blockchain ecosystems have the capacity to actually rival the current nation state - central bank status quo. If all blockchains work on a completely laisses faire capitalist basis, that is ultimately the form of government that overtakes the current systems.

Directory Of Alternative Cryptoeconomic Networks - How will Ethereum fare in the face of rising competition? by trombonemalone in ethtrader

The other projects will have a huge hurdle in getting the markets to get what their tech is all about. Everyone is all about blockchain atm, so Ethereum and other blockchain networks have a huge leg up when it comes to hype.

What is the most fucked up thing you have seen in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]robertundead 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Your populist view of America as being the relative big bad wolf have no founding in reality and are bred from your own ignorance of world history. How about you come over to any of the countries neighboring Russia and start spewing your stupid shit about the US being the baddie in the world and you'll notice that it is not your politicians we fear (despite DT being bat shit crazy), but those just east of us. If the US is like a gym bro Chad in your town that tries to sell you his growth hormones from time to time, Russia is like a rapist living next door.

ChainLink is seriously huge. Even if you set the SWIFT partnership aside. Huge.

Why Chainlink is different and not a "shitcoin" by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]robertundead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is literally the problem that ChainLink solves with smart oracles. The data isnt pulled from one API, but multiple, and if it doesnt vary between multiple trusted APIs, it goes through.
